No question got beat by a very good pitcher. Had runners on in 8th n 9th innings
now Cole needs to pitch like an ace today
Dominated and no hit by who? 15 Ks. Cole allows a .077 hitter to hit one out. Lots of pitiful Yankees at bats. Luetge is such a different pitcher than last year. This is the concern I have in a short series. Why the heck were DJLM and IKF out of the lineup? Yanks seem to rest starters more than other teams, or so it seems.
Don't look now, but the AL East is no lock.
I would still favor us, but Boston has cut the deficit to 11 games, has been playing just as well as we have for the better part of 2 months, and most importantly, they have 16 head-to- head meetings left with us.
It's not out of reach.

game 71. the yanks have been consistent.
their pitching has been consistently above average. with a few burps here and there.
their hitting has been consistently hot and cold. game 71 was ice station zero.

Agreed!!!!Give him what he wants. For him to leave NY would be blasphemy and unforgivable. I remember watching him in spring training before he came up and knew he was special then. Just needed to learn how to control the strike zone.

ok ok it was the 2022 a's. they are in the bottom 2 of nearly all the major offensive stats.
but the yanks were down 5 to 1 at one point.

tv graph showed that in the last 6 games, the yank starters have been in a deep funk.
