2022 Mets

Our offense has stunk. We need an MLB quality DH next year. I’m over Max after doing nothing in the two games we need him. This could go down as a terrible contact. We wouldn’t have made it to the playoffs without him, but still a horrible showing.

Scherzer must be worn down. We got him for the big games and he hasn't come through. That said the way we hit against good pitching makes it hard to win. At least Marte got two hits.
Tonight is a big night for Jake. If he doesn't look good I believe it impacts his free agent contract.
 
Sure the offense has been lousy. How about getting runners home from 3rd base with less than 2 outs etc. All that can be true but…

You can’t be in 2-0, 3-0, 4-0 and 7-0 holes immediately. We are paying the pitcher $40m and he couldn’t stop the bleeding or even keep the ball in the ballpark. The guy going tonight wants to be paid that money too. Ok. Time to show it. No 4 runs in 5 or 6 innings.

Yup. He flat out missed 3 strikes by Scherzer early. One was literally a curve that was middle, middle. All that being said Scherzer struck out Soto after the horrific missed strike. He also then gave some borderline ”low” strikes thrown by Darvish.

All that being said, it really didn’t cost us directly and is NOT the reason Scherzer gave up 4 HRs. We just got beat.

The Alonso caught looking strike in the first was that just a bad non swing by Pete ? We all thought the pitch was way too close to not be swinging at

Amen--you don't get many chances to score on Darvish and the first inning was a huge opportunity and Pete had to get that run in. Other than Marte and Escobar Met bats were MIA. As we all agreed Marte's injury was critical down the stretch. Might have won division if he was playing.

Perfectly said, the last couple of starts was the reason you got him. Was hoping for a dominant performance especially after the start against the braves

Yea, going back to LL days—2 strikes, if close protect the plate until you get a pitch you can handle.

This game is very nerve wracking--very much like watching SJU basketball. OOPS!!

God love McNeil. Padre mistake to keep Morejon in, even though lefty/lefty, as his control was wild--Mc Neil hits both lefties and righties well.
 
Good win tonight. Crazy BP moves but in the end it worked. Phils facing the Braves. We will, hopefully, be seeing the Dodgers. Bassitt looking ready for tomorrow in the dugout tonight. Should be a fun evening game tomorrow! LFGM!!!
 
Buckle up Mets fans. Nothing ever easy. 4 hour plus 9 inning game. (Yikes) Nice 5 run lead late and still managed to allow tying run to the plate.

Tomorrow sets up as a struggle but hey, at least we survive tonight to give us a chance tomorrow. We could be the Cardinals. Two and done. Not exactly confident but they still have an opportunity to advance. LFGM!
