2022 Mets

We finally have an edge in the loss column, thanks to a gem of a pitching duel last night between the Braves and the Phils. Now we have to stay up in the loss column and win this division. It's looking better right now but...it IS the Mets! LOL!
LFGM!!!
The Mets play one less game then the Braves next week. We play 2 against Miami and they play 3 against Washington. That will even out the 1/2 game before the Braves series. We are getting down to the end.

The Braves series is looking incredible to the season. Atlanta should have 3 sellouts next w/e. We are well set up for starting pitchers with Bassitt, Jake and Max.

So now, thanks to our friends in Philly, we have a 2 1/2 game lead and we're 2 up in the loss column. This is a crazy and fun pennant race. Hopefully by the end of today it will be a 3 1/2 game lead. That would be nice but not realistic. I'm betting on Jake keeping up our end this afternoon. Hoping that the Phils can pull off a miracle and beat the Bravos once again.

I so want to “look ahead” because deGrom and Scherzer up next and then two at home against the Marlins…BUT baseball gods are fickle and they could lose any game.

So I keep repeating, one game at a time, one game at a time…

Baseball will humble you quickly. After last night I wouldn’t have dreamed (a nightmare?) the scenario where Jacob deGrom pitched in a game the Mets lost 10-4 to the putrid Oakland Athletics. He gave up most of them not all but here we are. Two games in a row he gave up 3 run leads. I guess that’s just baseball.

Hopefully, Scherzer shows up for his start tomorrow.

Jake was stunned by getting 3 runs in the first before he took the mound, not used to pitching with a "large" lead.

So Jake is actually human and not an alien (as he was called by Bassitt). Ok, brush this off and move on. Baseball is a fickle wife. We still have a one game lead in the all important loss column. Let's hope that Max picks us up today.

Baseball makes no sense.
Hit a rocket off your bat straight to a fielder and you fail.
Hit a weak blooper to win the game and you're a hero.

Come back today. Take the series like we've done all year.

First time in forever you could just see Jake couldn’t “right” himself. He missed on several pitches and kept pawing at the mound. You could see the struggle and the frustration.

Like you and MainMan said let’s get the W today. Time for Max to pick us up.

This is typical look past series with the Bravos on Deck. Muttsies better not let their guard down. Need a sweep.

Props to the Polar Bear and Max today. 128 ribbies is quite an achievement. Also winning more than twice your losses is another.
Petey is having an amazing season but lets not overlook Lindor.

He's looking like 100 Runs, 25 Ding Dongs, 110 Ribbies, 16 Steals and played every game but 1.

Only 9 Errors at SS.

After last year he's back to his old self and worth every penny.
