2022 Mets

really missing Marte with Darin "strike out waiting to happen" Naquin. Maybe they should bring up a third catcher and use either McCann or Nido as DH versus lefties-They can't be worse than Ruf

We really miss not trading for a legit catcher and DH right now too.
Interesting stat is our Catchers (Mc and Nido) in September. Combined they are hitting .350 with On Base % of .422; 7 RBI's and 10 Runs. Why I suggested bring up 3rd catcher and sending Ruf out and having them handle DH versus lefties. Voges has been AWOL for september and Ruf is 0-14 for Sept.

YIKES!!! This does not bode well! Going into the end of the season and being swept for the first time this season and by the Cubs!!! The Mets have gotten away from their game. Buck needs to have them get back to what they were doing all season. They have to play small ball. Get hits not home runs. Get the next batter out not strike out every batter. Make the other team work harder than you are. That's how they got here.

Three issues regarding everyday players...

[1] Lindor, Alonso, McNeil...these guys have played everyday, absorbed a lot of HBPs, broken fingers, etc., hopefully they aren't fatigued beyond production. They have been carrying most of the load because...

[2] We have had production black holes from LF, 3B, C, and DH. From a macro point of view, there have been micro bursts, but broad stroke, have not carried their weight season long. Positions that are long considered production positions. That is half of the everyday lineup.

[3] The trades have produced little, Nygler [sp] in LF, the fat softball player who clogs the basepaths, Vogelbach, and Ruf have produced little more than a one game heroic or two. If this all those two DHs have, bring back Dom Smith, at least he can run.

Good news; Marte will be rested coming back, Scherzer will be rested, deGrom is rested, Guillorme is back.

Let's Go Mets!

That was ugly. Mets just playing listless, boring baseball. Of course, it would help if Peterson would show up and not hand the opposition multiple early runs because he can’t throw strikes. All around just a terrible and disappointing series. Broken record but they better turn this around quickly. The offense has been fits and starts for awhile now. Ruf and Voglebach have become a black hole at DH and Lindor and Alonso have become the kings of “meaningless“ run producers long after games are over.

Too many black holes in this lineup.

The problem is those holes were exposed long before September.

I still can't believe they didn't make any significant moves at the deadline when everyone knows this is a "win now team" with Uncle Steve's resources.

Still, I actually have faith that this ship will be righted soon and we'll finish strong.
