2022 Mets

That would be ideal, but since Tuesday is the trade deadline, I still think the Mets cannot afford to wait for Davis to get going.

There are some cheap (in terms of asking price) players who can be the righty DH (I wonder if San Francisco is willing to trade our old friend Wilmer Flores)?

We should all be ready for movement in the next couple of days, especially in the bullpen.
It would not be surprising if the Mets add three relievers since Smith is injured.

The Mets are in a spot to go for it, but it may not be sexy moves. The Braves model from last year of adding depth on the bench and the pen is the way to go.
I would take another Kelly Johnson/Juan Uribe type of depth.

Not the prettiest of games but a win and a sweep. The season high 19 hit mark is a huge positive. I like that they work the other team's pitchers to death. A totally different mindset than last year. This is why they're winning. They wear other teams out. Today's kudos go to the offense. Everyone except Naquin and Nimmo got multiple hits. I can't wait for DeGrom to come back this week! We just might see our Mets still playing in October and against the Yankees. What fun!!!

As a semi rational Met fan forever, considering long loss of pitching ace, Scherzer to lesser extent, getting seasoned manager in Buck, staying ahead of a strong division opponent in Atlanta and the stench of previous ownership gone with a guy who spends & cares, I could not be more pleased with where they stand.

As a native New Yorker, it is great to have the Yanks and Mets having super seasons. Neither perfect, but this beats waiting for the season to end re Mets. Enjoy the ride!

So are you guys willing to give up a Top 5 prospect like Vientos for a rental like Wilson Contreras?

I agree.
Name me a Mets fan who didn't think '86 and '88 were the start of a dynasty instead of a long slide into mediocrity?
I can't think of a more perfect fit. A veteran who already has a ring, who improves the offense significantly. Can easily move to DH to have Nido call some games.

Yeah that’s pretty much the way I feel. When you are having your second best start to season ever and you are in august and you have your best pitcher finally coming back this week you do everything you can to win now. If we were borderline playoff team maybe I’d feel different but this team is built to win now

Shocked about Hader. SD gave up a lot but imagine he was here. Lock up the women and children because a party is coming to town

Another not so pretty win but I'll take it. A game we were supposed to win. Scherzer not at his best tonight but comes through like the Ace that he is. The offense finally comes through for him. 13 hits tonight. 7 wins in a row. 28 games over 500. 53 hits in the last 4 games. 3 1/2 games up on the idle Braves. Play these numbers in the Powerball!!! LOL!!!:ROFLMAO: Now on to deGrom tomorrow! Life is good!

How about Pete's home run--a rocket that barely got off the ground.
