I just want to shout out to Aaron Boone. Jeff McNeil at the plate. Mets just advanced to 2nd and 3rd on a wild pitch. Count is 3-1 on McNeil. First base is OPEN. How do you not walk McNeil there?? I know he’s been in a slide but… I believe JD swing and miss Davis is on deck. That insurance run finished them off. LOL Boone! Good win tonight.

On to the next one. Mad Max on the bump.

I haven't seen Vogelbach in a long time apparently. I don't ever remember him being so big. Reminds me of Ram Man from Master of the Universe.

  • What would kingman be making today ?- career .236 avg. 442 career hrs
  • Gallo. .201. Unbelievable
Kong was a little different. I think one season he had more or almost as many HRs as singles. He was also a butcher in the field. He was a DH in a non DH league.

And a moody, difficult guy in clubhouse
Keith Hernandez retold the story that when he was traded to the Mets, Kingman was thrilled. You see Keith was his “ticket” out of NY. Kind of weird that a shitty one dimensional player like him should have been thrilled to be playing anywhere. Then again someone once said Dave didn’t even like baseball. Would explain a lot. He allegedly was a miserable SOB.

Yes. Definitely remember kinsman not being the most pleasant guy in the clubhouse. Long career

not a fielder at all

Kingman was an unusual player. A lousy 1B who played mostly in the NL but he hit a ton of home runs. He led the NL in OPS his 30 year old season which would get him a pretty good contract in today's world.
