2021 Mets

Is this unexpected run with the bench players carrying the load finally running out of steam?

Hopefully getting several bodies back by this weekend. We have to figure out how to keep spot starters healthy. Lucchesi now Gsellman. Hoping no reports about Eickhoff today.

This is one of the worst teams the Mets have played in a while..... Nimmo returning is huge. Hope he can stay healthy.

Nice win.
But the inter-league has become such a bore.
Totally agree.  Unfortunately it’s not going away, it would necessitate either realignment (currently 15 teams per league) or expansion (2 teams, I recommend the Springfield Isotopes and Milwaukee Beers)

Interesting game last night.  Mets played a good team with a pitcher in the DeGrom class and somehow came through with Megill  and great relief until the ninth when it looked like Diaz was reverting to 2019.  I wonder if it was for lack of use with him not pitching in a game for 6 days?  Rojas will have to figure out how to use him even in a non save game.

I do write that off to not being sharp based on the extended time off.

I totally forgot Blankenmeyer is the cyclones coach https://nypost.com/2021/07/08/trio-of-mets-prospects-starring-with-brooklyn-cyclones/

lookalike we got a steal in the first round at #10

After watching Eickhoff pitch again yesterday, we can definitely use a quick promotion to the major leagues.
