2021 Mets

That pitch to the face was brutal. As bad as it is for Pillar that pitcher is going to have nightmares over it too

It was rough. We also did the same the night before. These guys throw so damn how even an average pitch is tough to dodge.

Looks like the Mets have their usual pitiful minor league prospects.  Please tell me that Maybin, Tovar, and Lee are not the best we have.
Watching the Met games now without the starters is depressing.

Saturday and Sunday were depressing and the guys you named are clearly, to quote SNL, "The Not Ready For Prime Time Players".  Lee's start of 8 strike outs was in a row something of a MLB record

I just tried buying tix for the Mets-Yanks game on Sept 10 when I'm back in town.  $216 each for the outfield!  Not happening...That ridiculous.

I had Mets season tickets (30 game strips) for 3 the last seasons at Shea (in the loge behind home plate - year one was $28 per game per ticket, year 3 I think $35)   When they built Citifield, best they could offer was left field landing, which is the equivalent of bleacher seats.    When a fly ball is hit to the warning track in left, you lost sight of the outfielder and the ball.   When it was hit down the line in right, there were some blind spots where you lost the ball.   Then you also can't see the main scoreboard from the seats I had.    Gigantic waste of money and as nice a building as it is, those design flaws make some seats suck.

You are smart to pass on that.  Perhaps you will get lucky on stubhub.

Let me know when you are back Nathalie and I will meet you and Kira out in Huntington

Will do, we are home for her brothers wedding in Rochester, but spending a week on LI. We are also coming home for Thanksgiving.

How much longer do the Mets let Peterson throw "batting practice".  Need another starter and send him down; he isn't getting anything done>

The question is, do they have anyone to replace him?

If you can't at least temporarily replace your 5th starter with your top minor league starter than your farm system sucks.

We are witnessing as close to perfection on a baseball field as is possible for a pitcher.

Not just for a single game, which in itself is often cloaked in good fortune.

Not just for a single season that proves to be futile and elusive to repeat.

But for a career where every single pitch is delivered with precision and power combined in a way rarely if ever seen on a baseball diamond for such a prolonged period.

Koufax, Seaver, Gibson  deGrom.

He belongs in that group.

He has more rbis than earned runs allowed that’s just mind boggling. And with that hit last night he’s gotta be batting near .400 because before the hit they put up a stat that he was batting close to .380
