With the health issues he has had I hope deGrom takes the All Star break off.
 
Peterson with the best start of his career after a few duds. 
Hope he finds consistensy. Could be a potent weapon.
 
Jake with a another hit and RBI. Not sure what I look forward to more now his pitching or at bats :)

Was watching game until they went to bottom of third Jake pitching his usual great game. Decide to go for a walk and ESPN local radio's Chris Carlin is absolutely going berserk, ranting and raving about someone being so stupid. Took a minute to realize he was talking about deGrom who was taken out of the game with arm soreness. Unbelievable. They're saying this time it's his shoulder as opposed to last time with his elbow.

Hope it's nothing too serious. Long time ago in school when I used to pitch one time I had pulled abdominal muscle and tried working through it and tried pitching just in a pickup game few days later and messed up my arm so bad was never the same. Pitching everything in your body you use and so easy to create a bad imbalance if you dont let the original injury heal correctly

as much as I love seeing everything he does on the ball field, I am ok w him taking 3 strikes when batting and going back to the bench. No more stress on whatever is going on.

Bartolo Colon would do that in games where his team had a comfortable lead.  His at bats were adventures.

When BC did decide to 'hit', those ABs were incredibly fun to watch :) 
 
Ron Darling offered some great perspective with his anecdote of Mel Stottlemyre teaching him how to throw a slider.  His first slider was a great one but his shoulder was killing him.  He concluded that some guys just aren't built to throw certain pitches and that certain pitches put tremendous strain on your body.

Great moment when the cameras caught a fan wearing a Haji the cat tshirt.   They asked Keith if he got royalties for the sale of each such shirt, and his response was "You bet your bippy!".   The crew and a million tv viewers cracked up at that one.
 
Despite the apparent good news on deGrom's shoulder I hope the Mets exercise some caution with him and push him back a start or two to give his arm some rest. He throws as hard as short relievers like Chapman but pitches many more innings.
 
deGrom to make his scheduled start today. My prediction-he comes out after 3 innings with gas pains. Actually I would prefer that to any further arm discomfort.
 
5 scoreless innings and blown no hitter in the outfield but Jake lower ms his ERA to 0.50. He walked 2 guys though very disappointing
