2020 Jets

Gase the gift that keeps on giving. May have so impressed Chris Johnson with this win he may get an extension. Only in Jets land people, only in Jets land!

I most likely lost a bunch of money in a suicide pool today by picking the Rams.

I won't know who the other guy left picked until the administrator sends out his update, so just praying the other guy was an idiot too by trusting the Jets to do the right thing.

Everyone got eliminated super early so it rolled over. I was on an 11-game streak, so not nearly as impressive as 15. Went to the well one too many times with the Jets and it bit me in the ass.

Funny thing is, I bet the jags somehow beat the bears next Sunday and all the Jets fans come back from the dead, only for the Jets to win week 17 against New England. Now THAT would be a kick in the balls. As bad as it is, it can get worse

Now if I can only find guaranteed winner...

I mean let’s be real. If the jags beat the bears and give us a gift... there’s no excuse for us to play a single starter week 17. We can’t. If by some miracle it swung back in the Jets favor they can’t try to win week 17. The players got their win, we didn’t go 0-16, cool... now it’s over

Jags are in same situation as Jets -- they have a young QB who has no intention of tanking himself out of a job. I honestly wouldn't be shocked to see the Jags start Glennon in the last two games to ensure that Minshew doesn't go rogue and win a game.

Too many times this league has seen a terrible team that didn't score the #1 pick take a QB way too early. I think it was Jack who said Fields is terrible, and I agree that the Jets taking him would be a huge mistake. I didn't think the Jets should have taken Darnold, but I think he's better than Fields. Trade the pick and get some real weapons in here.

That is certainly a possibility.   Now that NE is eliminated, it makes sense for them to play their back up QB to see if he's any good.

I agree about Fields.   He could be Dak Prescott or he could be a bust.   I'd avoid him.   If you go QB its Zach Wilson.   I'd stay where you are and take Penei Sewell.  He's the best LT prospect since Olrando Pace.

The idea of having Sewell and Becton on the same line is extremely enticing, but it's so hard mentally to talk myself back into Sam after an entire season of rooting for the tank.

which is why this sucks so much. It's so tough for the fans to get behind anything that happens from here out, even if what they do makes sense in a lot of ways.

it's hard for a franchise to go 0-13, and drive their fans to the point of getting ready for a new franchise QB, and then winning one game and saying "oh wait fans! Come on back to Darnold!" It just doesn't work.

but if that's what they do, then that's what they do. And we will have to just go with it. I mean who knows maybe they do take Sewell., and with him and Becton become a top 5 line, and can just become a power running team where Sam doesn't have to do too much. But for that to work in the modern day NFL, your defense has to be at least top half of the league, and there's MAJOR work to do in that side of the ball

Wilson is playing right now on ESPN. One thing you probably won't see from him is an interception.

Having an offensive line that allows you to run the ball and gives the quarterback time to throw makes a qb's life a lot easier.  So would hiring a top flight qb coach.

I thought Douglas did a good job with this years draft and I trust him to make the right decision about our QB situation. We have a ton of needs so I am fine if we stick with Sam for now and build a better team. Adding Sewell would be a step in the right direction.

The only thing that is keeping me from completely dumping the Jets out of my life is Joe Douglas. Because I agree. He's a smart football mind and I trust him.

I loved his draft last year. And now he has more picks and picks earlier obviously every round. He will do well again and we will get better

now... can he get the head coaching hire right? Is he even going to be allowed to make the hire with Woody coming back? Time will tell

My question about Darnold is whether he sees the field with the level of awareness needed for NFL success.  I saw Namath intercepted all over the place but the sense was always that he over valued his arm, not that he didn't know where defenders were.

Been thinking about this, and I'm all in on Sewell. Draft Darnold a weapon with the next two picks and see what happens. I personally would still try to unload him and pick up a veteran QB who might be available, but I'm not taking into account unwieldy contract sizes in my daydreams.

One of my favorite drafts was when the Jets took Ferguson at either 3 or 4 and my favorite Jet of all time in Mangold. Add in Faneca, Moore, (less his ass in Sanchez's face) and Woody. That line rarely went backwards at the snap. I would be fine with Sewell. Shoot I would be OK looking some interior with the Seahawks pick as well. Van Roten (name fits his play) looks like he doesn't know the snap count half the time or is just sleeping in his stance.
