2017-18 Transfers
Reports of Pitt, Maryland, UConn (we knew), BC, etc. getting involved in last few hours aggressively. Now that Ponds is back this just seems way too good to be true. Please basketball gods just give us a miracle once. We've suffered enough.
Would not worry about that. You may see him here sooner than not.
The waiver was really out of control -- kids should not be transferring home because an aunt has a chronic but treatable condition.

I'm sure the NCAA has a secret list of what will be approved and what won't: If Heron's mom has something like diabetes, as serious as it can be, I think the waiver is denied. But if his mom has something like cancer or ALS, then we see him immediately, which is of course simultaneously great and absolutely sucky.
Maybe the NCAA wants to modify the hardship rule and maybe Mustapha knows this and thinks he’ll be Curt Flood on this rule.
Timing is everything.
Let’s hope!

Noticed Ponds and Heron exchange pleasantries...wonder how close they are and how much they talk.

Any chance Trimble transfers with Heron on board and we can pick up a big man? Doubt he'll get many minutes this year.

Even I would never get this greedy

Could this transfer have anything to do with Auburn possibly going on probation pursuant to the FBI investigation re payoffs by the assistant coaches?

He might think about it, but I'm personally 100 percent against forcing him out at this point. With some breaks, roster could be beyond my wildest dreams.

I think that could force a waiver. Looks horrible if a clean kid wants to escape a dirty program and is denied. Of course, all this would be predicated on Heron being clean. . .

Paultz, perhaps the Ponds news expedites his choice. Also for the sake of fending off all the latest aggressive programs making a late push. Seems to be one of those things that gets murkier the longer the wait is. Hopefully within the next few days he decides.

Doubt it as 2 other Auburn players just pulled their names out of the draft. For those asking about Heron's mom's situation read article that stated she is still suffering from post concussion symptoms.

I wouldn't force him out If I was the staff, but Trimble has to look at the roster and see his minutes will be lacking.

He's made his decision or it's gotten murkier already?

Decision

I'd be careful about publicly stating that you "hope" or "maybe it will happen" with regards to a current player transferring.

Hearing Friday arrival rumblings. We’ll see.
Slice putting in work

regardless of school chosen, would the hardship waiver decision be made quickly or could that decision drag out ?
