2015 Bracketology

I think we fall to an 8 after last night's results. Got a lot of results in our favor, but Xavier and Oregon should pass us for the 7 seed spot

Again falling to 10 would be preferable to 8 or 9

Hey Room, don't let it stop you from enjoying things and posting here. I refuse to let it get to me. Some people just don't know how to be happy with anything.

I will personally enjoy hearing our name called on Sunday and will be looking forward to our game next week.

Do I wish we were a stronger team/program? Of course. But it still doesn't mean I'm going to bail on the program I've been following since the early 1980s.
So being critical of your team and or their performance equates with being a miserable human being. Maybe everything else in someone's life is going pretty well save for SJU basketball and so they voice their complaints. Maybe someone is miserable and SJU's miserable performances just blends right in with the rest of their life so they don't bother to complain or even see it as a problem (maybe it is the best thing in their miserable lives right now). See how easy it is to turn things around. Guess if I step in a pile of dog shit I should just be happy about it and count it as a blessing and not say aw F#ck! Thanks for the life lesson but I think I'll pass!
Nothing wrong with being critical about their performance...they sucked and appeared to fall apart at 1st sign of adversity...stage fright (as noted by Rubin in today's Daily News), not starting Jordan 1st or 2nd half...all fair game...But some of the posts are over the top critical of individuals and their careers at SJ...Harrison has been a warrior...has flaws and isn't an NBA level player...didnt have his finest moment and may have even choked a bit that day (as did everyone elese including the staff)..but overall he and the rest of the guys have been terrific...just my opinion

Besides the obvious of having to play the number 1 if we win I seem to remember always having bad luck in 8-9 game. I think we were an 8 in Jackson's senior year when they made us play DePaul at DePaul. We lost in OT with help on a BS goaltending call.
Also lost 8-9 I think Shelton Jones senior year against Florida I think somewhere in Florida.

"Again" :)

Would you rather me start a Fire Lavin or DLO isn't clutch thread? Much more annoying things on here than my hatred of 8-9 or worry of getting 11. Don't like the 8-9 game

Your point has been eminently clear man. Trust me we will remember it. :)

Almost 48 hours later and still lost for words. Excitement for Selection Sunday has been replaced with doubt and resignation, expecting the worst. Why are we so inconsistent?

Disappointing because this talented Senior-laden team should be capable of so much more but the hidings by Nova and PC have exposed all the flaws.

Is our confidence shot or can they shake it off, regroup, focus and realize this is the last hurrah?

Hoping that we draw a team that we match-up well against and that the opposition looks at tape of the last two games and under-estimate us...

Remember earlier in the year when we were ranked and posters were saying we could beat Kentucky lol. Honestly, I'd like to see us play Kentucky. Not only will it mean we won a tournament game, but we'd have a shot to make history by dealing them their only loss. Our chances would be 1 in 100 to beat them but still

No matter the seed or the opponent if this next game plays out like the last two it could have some ripple effects:
1. embarrassing end of srs. careers
2. Lavin's departure
3. OB and Jordan's departure
4. current verbal committed recruits renege
5. current possible recruits drop out
Could be a pretty important game. Let's hope for a better effort by all.

Lunardi latest bracketology is out, he dropped us to a 9??? Palm still has us as a 7. Based on our resume compared to other teams currently I think we're an 8

Well...let's just thank our lucky stars that we will make the tournament ..no telling what the ripple affects of that could have been:
1)Taffner Field House Collapses
2) The return of Jarvis
3) All the laptops on the campus implode spontaneously
4)Mankind as we know it reverts to primates
5)Monaash sports a Speedo at all home games to show off his tan.... :eek:hmy:

The year we list to DePaul in a nail biter in the NCAA was my first year as a fan. We beat the shockers in the first round. Mark Jackson's senior year.

The next year we lost to fla in the first round. I believe Duane Shintez (sp) fla's best player was suspended but fla still won

Vernon Maxwell killed us in Florida game more than the late Dwayne Schintzius. He was the difference

Forgot about that I think Marco Baldi had a good game against Wichita State. So we played DePaul in 2nd round

I agree with all who think we are in but listening to the talking heads on ESPN the anti-BE buzz is alive and well. Led by Bilas who disparaged Nova as a one seed with the old "who have they beaten" mantra, completely ignoring the depth, quality, and pre-conference play of the conference. Now that Virginia and his (and ESPNs) beloved Duke have lost, he's politicing to make a case. My only concern is that if in that selection room there is a similar opinion of the conference because of the non-football factor (read $) and they decide the conference only gets 5 we could get screwed. Just thought I would make everyone's day (at least those foolish enough to take me seriously.)

Lunardi has us as a lock. That flashed at bottom of ESPN during Stony Brook game 100 times, so we got that going for us.

I really do agree we are in but I just want to see it.....I never underestimate what money can do and the BCS conferences have been very open that they want all the money.
