Reading some of the posts here and several other threads reaffirms the fact that our fan base is one of the worst out there.
I find it pathetic and sad that all some of you can do is moan and groan AND say we don't deserve to go to the Dance, or have yourselves convinced that we aren't now going.
As I said when the same sad posters were jumping ship back in January, I have faith in these guys and will stick with them until the balls are put away for the season. I see them winning a game or 2. Not to worry, the same people here will complain about that as well and will ruin that!
We are on the verge of hearing our name on Selection Sunday and there are still "fans" who can't enjoy this for even one minute. Why bother following this program at all if this is how you approach it? We aren't Duke, Kansas or Kentucky. We are what we are. If you can't enjoy the coming days, you should consider following one of the above teams instead.
Stop being pathetic and sad and just enjoy things for a change.
So being critical of your team and or their performance equates with being a miserable human being. Maybe everything else in someone's life is going pretty well save for SJU basketball and so they voice their complaints. Maybe someone is miserable and SJU's miserable performances just blends right in with the rest of their life so they don't bother to complain or even see it as a problem (maybe it is the best thing in their miserable lives right now). See how easy it is to turn things around. Guess if I step in a pile of dog shit I should just be happy about it and count it as a blessing and not say aw F#ck! Thanks for the life lesson but I think I'll pass!Hey Room, don't let it stop you from enjoying things and posting here. I refuse to let it get to me. Some people just don't know how to be happy with anything.
I will personally enjoy hearing our name called on Sunday and will be looking forward to our game next week.
Do I wish we were a stronger team/program? Of course. But it still doesn't mean I'm going to bail on the program I've been following since the early 1980s.

Thanks man, I'll probably never leave simply because I'll always be a fan and I've been on this site 10+ years, it's fun to have someone to share the highs and lows with
Surprised by two things:
1. We dropped 9 spots to 44 rpi. NC State also lost and gained 3 spots (wtf?)
2. We're still a 7 seed. I was thinking 9.
Not surprised:
1. We are still in the tournament.
2. We aren't in the play in game
Overall I'd say good news.

The NCAA RPI page indicates that they consider yesterdays game to be a home game. That is why we dropped nine spots. They have our neutral court record at 1-0 (Tulane). This sucks and the three games in question (Minn, Gonzaga and Prov) likely cost us at least 10-15 spots in the RPI.
LSU just took a bad loss to Auburn, Lunardi had LSU as a 10 prior to that.
Here's what I'm rooting for tonight, to help us maintain our seeding:
St. Bonaventure over Dayton
Maryland over Indiana
Houston over Tulsa
Michigan State over Ohio State
UConn over Cincinnatti
South Carolina over Georgia
Arizona over UCLA
Wyoming over Boise State
Georgetown over Xavier
Colorado State over San Diego State
Utah over Oregon

Actually I don't rant and rave nor do I ever get exercised over officiating like the numerous crybabies on these boards who think SJU is the only team that ever gets a bad call. Last two games have left a bad taste and I am not as excited about the NCAA T as I was one week ago. Sort of like having a favorite fighter going into a championship fight vs Muhammad Ali and he is coming off 2 straight losses. Just not very confident of even a first round win and doubt our players are either (not like they can draw on much sucessful tourney experiences). Oh well, hope they surprise and make it to sweet 16.So being critical of your team and or their performance equates with being a miserable human being. Critical isn't bad. I've done my share of that here in the past.
My point is that if you can't enjoy the days before we are going to the NCAAs, AND WE ARE, something we haven't done in a long while, something that many here said we wouldn't achieve this season, and instead you are critical NOW and focused on the glass being half empty, then I just don't get what someone like that is looking for. How can you be happy with the program, ever?
Wasn't give you a life lesson. For all I care, sit on your couch Sunday evening and rant and rave about how we don't deserve the 10 seed that they announce. That's your choice.
I will simply enjoy hearing us announced, looking forward to Thursday/Friday.
UConn has 9 lives, it's unreal.

I see this as a major problem, and if I knew who to call, I would but I don't . So I think anyone who thinks they do, should. It could mean a higher seed. This is not good, nor is it fair!
