looking at most mock brackets, we are either a 6 or 7. Critical for us to be out of that 8/9 slot. One bracket had us as a 6 seed vs Purdue then a potential matchup with Maryland next. That's a nice roadmap to the sweet 16 as a bunch of the 2 seeds can make a case for the 1 line.

Yeah except they wouldn't construct a bracket where two big 10 teams meet on the first weekend which is why you need to ignore many of these guys with respect to anything but the bubble, and a seeding range.

Huh? Maryland is ACC and Purdue is Big Ten

Google is one hell of a site

Glad to see you've been paying attention to realignment.

I'm a dope. Maryland moved out of acc.

Does the score of the last two games cost us an invite to the NCAA's? I think we might fall into a play-in game.

Is there a single person, besides a few paranoid SJU fans saying this?

There's your answer.

Iowa took a bad loss against Penn State, Lunardi had us and them as 7's. Have to assume we stay above them. VCU beat Fordham in a game that does nothing to help their resume.

" VCU beat Fordham in a game that does nothing to help their resume."

Though it does help Pecora fast track getting his polished up.

Come on man. Think before you post. We are not falling to an 11 seed, which are the play in games. The whole regular season means more than 1 BET game.

Looking at the latest Bracketology, believe it or not we could still possibly get a 7, but an 8 looks likely, at worst a 9 depending on how some games shake out

why wouldn't we be an 11 seed? right now we are 42 in the RPI with a 20-11 record coming off 2 blowout losses. 11 seed is what we deserve

Brackets are based on record, RPI, etc. Not on how disappointed we feel as fans and what we percieve that we "deserve." You can't just look at just what we did, but also what other teams are doing in comparison. The committee will take a much more sober view than fans do as it formulates the brackets. As for the margin of the losses, I don't believe that plays any role at all in terms of selection. I doubt that it even affects the seeding.

You want to wager on the 11 seed. I will take that bet in a NY minute.
And by the way we don't deserve an 11 seed. Two games don't make a season. Have to look at the big picture. 5 or 6 wins against the top 50, while most bubble teams have 1 or 2. Those are the 11 and 12 seeds, it does take a math major to figure this one out.
There are too many on here basing their analysis on their "flavor of the day" emotions.

Take a deep breath and enjoy Sunday for a change.

I don't expect to get better than a 9 seed. I would prefer a 10 seed and don't mind an 11 as long as it is not a play in. Let the players get a chip on their shoulder.

Really will depend on how some of these teams close to us do in the conference tourneys
