2015 Bracketology

Purdue wins at Indiana. All of the sudden we could be in the last four out very soon.

Just win. There is gonna be so many of these games from the 12 or so teams on the bubble for 3 weeks to come. Fun to follow for sure but we still control our own destiny.

At the end of the day, we need a "signature" win. That always differentiates teams on the bubble. Nova, and maybe G'town, are our only remaining chances for that.

Jerry Palm says 8 seed, vs. LSU round 1, and Virginia round 2 (better then vs. Kentucky round 2).

Palm's been far friendlier to us then Lunardi has been throughout this whole season. Here's to hoping that he is more accurate then Joe is.

I think palm is high on us because of how we competed against duke and Gonzaga and lunardi doesn't take that into account. I don't think the committee does either they might though

I think we all agree with this:

St. John's [17-9 (6-7), RPI: 37, SOS: 30] Whatever damage was dealt in St. John's lopsided loss to Georgetown could be undone in the weeks to come. On Saturday, the Red Storm host the shell that once housed Seton Hall. From there, it's two more consecutive home dates against Xavier and Georgetown. Three games in seven days is never easy, but if you have to do it, you'd prefer not to travel. Three straight wins would very likely push St. John's up and away from their current position in the middle of the bubble mess. Then again, if the Red Storm had that type of consistency in them, they wouldn't be on the bubble in the first place.

We would be lucky to score 40 points against Virginia, their defense is redonkulous! :(

Probably true, but I prefer playing anybody to playing Kentucky.

Hold them to 39.
Unfortunately there would still be a second half to play.

Miami away vs Louisville just missed a big opportunity. Great for us

Definitely. Also where is Jack Williams with the rundown of teams we need to root for lol

I'll take a shot at this. This is what we needed to root for today:

George Mason over Rhode Island
Minnesota over Wisconsin (Wisconsin Won)
VCU over UMass (VCU won)
Syracuse over Pittsburgh (Pitt won)
South Carolina over Texas A&M (Texas A&M Won)
Florida over LSU (LSU won)
Iowa St. over Texas (Iowa St. Won)
Duquesne over Dayton (Duquesne Won)

I could have sworn (Moose maybe?) had posted a site where you can enter your team and it tells you the best case scenario for win/loss to get you into the tourney. Maybe I had a few to many pale ales.

That is the Jerry Palm reader on CBS Sports. It only tells you games that will directly impact your teams RPI, which is teams you've played already this year.

Thanks and also apologies for not doing it has been a busy day

I did all of that work for nothing, this site has it all:

Although I do not agree with their assessment of us. The way they have the teams ranked for the bracket is questionable

St. John’s: If the Johnnies are going to end up being an at-large team, it’s going to be earned this week. On Saturday, they added a much-needed win over Seton Hall at home, and in the next seven day, they’ll get both Xavier (No. 33) and Georgetown (No. 20) in NYC. With a 3-6 record against the top 50, just six top 100 wins and a pair of sub-100 losses, St. John’s probably needs all three to get themselves out of the muck that makes up the cut-line. Entering the weekend, they were still in the play-in game in our latest bracket.

@ESPNLunardi: ...43-Illini, 44-Stan, 45-Purd, 46-StJohn, 47-NCSt, 48-HARV, 49-WOFF, 50-IONA, 51-MURR, 52-VALPO, 53-LATECH, 54-TOLEDO, 55-EWASH, 56-SAMH...

We are still sitting right on the bubble. Let's beat Xavier and see where we sit then.

At 3-6 we were in the muck, but we have worked our way out. Still work to do so not a problem with a writer saying we gatta win our home games. we do. This week can be do or die for our guys.
