19-20 Transfers

Can't say i watched a ton of OK St basketball but I remember their game game against Syracuse in Brooklyn and being very impressed with with Anei. Had 19/8/2 blocks that game. Very active, high motor, & tough. Think it would be a good fit if he were to come here.

Given what's going on in our country these days, it wouldn't surprise me if there was more movement than usual over the summer

I hear you Moose but I am not. The movement will continue throughout the summer and into early September as a result of a multitude of reasons. I would be very surprised if LJs ship goes unfilled. I highly doubt we get someone as talented as LJ but we will get a contributor for this season or next. Staff is on it.

My surprise is because the season ended so early and we were all in a state of flux I feel that things would have shaken out earlier. Yes BLM has now popped up in addition to Covid still just a little surprised. Since the later you wait the less scholarships available.

Great article on Anei, thanks for posting. Christian Bishop, the kid from Creighton with whose family Anei lived, looks poised to have a big junior year with Creighton. I wonder if playing in same league with Bishop might give SJU a leg up, assuming Creighton has no available ships left at this point.
Anei and Coach Cleveland already following each other after the news. Would love to get this guy. Would think he has a great chance to start at center from day 1 if this could happen.

Other coaches Anei followed after the news are assistants from UT-Arlington, Boise State and Western Kentucky.
Add Xavier to that list.

Yes, a great and informative piece, Paultz. Thanks much. Seems like a great kid as well.Would luv to get this guy!

Kid looks like a perfect fit for us. Could be as impactful overall as LJ in combination with Toro as we’d have two centers to split time and we have really been playing small. That big body inside who is a legit 6’11 and a shotblocking threat could be a difference maker against bigger teams. Kid runs the court like a gazelle so he’d have no problem with CMA’s style. I’m hoping we grab this kid if possible. There will be others but we’ve needed a big guy for a long time, and this kid fits the bill perfectly.

Said a lot of his credits weren't transferable because of his major. You would think someone would have done that research prior to him being rejected.

Precisely how does your Compliance and Admissions office drop the ball on this? How did they not know this when he was considering Michigan and presumably they looked at his transcripts?

Ohio State transfer Alonzo Gaffney has signed with Northwest Florida (JUCO), per release. Former Top-50 prospect.

I know this isn't a D1 transfer, but this is technically a transfer with him just getting cleared as a JUCO qualifier...

He isn't followed by any of the staff, but I noticed both Posh Alexander and Julian Champaigne congratulating him on being a qualifier, he's also following/being followed by new 2021 offer DaShawn Davis. From reading the comments seems like he's good friends with these guys. His JUCO stats were solid... 17 PPG / 8 RPG. Wonder will staff inquire about him.

Here's some highlights
