See the shoulders and biceps on this kid, I would take him in a heart beat if he and CMA are on the same page.
Why are you so sure he gets a waiver pretty easily ?

Hey, if we can get him in here on waiver and Iron Mike wants the kid, I’d take him in a heartbeat. Big body can play 4 or 5 spot and hits 67% from the floor. Much rather have a kid like this on board if Mike wants him, even if it’s sitting out if we aren’t going to fill the ship. He’d be better than most Juco options right off the bat for 2021 and Toro will be gone. All a matter of if CMA wants him and thinks he’s a good fit but there’s a relationship there.

Why are you so sure he gets a waiver pretty easily ?
He was pretty much forced out, did not play well under Muss, played a lot better under Mike in short spurts, anytime a player is forced out he can pretty much get a waiver. When Mike was fired, he posted a picture saying Mike was a father to him.

Watched a bunch of clips. High percentage player and good in transition too. Similar game to Anthony Glover around the rim. Doesn’t miss bunnies, flushes it home.

Love the fact that he's big and strong, can block shots and has never taken a three. If Coach thinks he's a fit for St. John's I'd say sign him up especially if Roberts being fully healthy this year is a question mark.
6'8 Sophmore forward Reggie Chaney has entered the portal from Arkansas, Top 150 recruit, was signed by Mike and played a season under Mike
If he came to St John's and got a waiver, he would be part of an already large junior class. If we get him, I'd almost rather that he sit out a season, get acclimated to our school and team and help balance the classes a bit

How?

Chaney’s potential was undermined by a high volume of mistakes and inconsistent play. He struggled with fouling (5 disqualifications and 150 total fouls, which works out to 6.1 fouls per 40 minutes); turnovers (3.0 per 40 minutes), and poor free throw shooting. Chaney also collected a couple of technical fouls as a sophomore, including one in Arkansas’s 79-77 loss at LSU that drew the ire of Musselman. Pass.

Sources: Oklahoma State's Yor Anei intends to transfer.

6-10 big man will be eligible immediately next season.

Averaged 8.1 PPG, 4.7 RPG, and 1.9 BPG last year.

“Immediately eligible”. Go get him Mike!

I wonder why Anei is immediately eligible. Looks to be a rising junior who played full seasons as a frosh and soph. Would love to see us get him as he appears to be an excellent rim defender and a decent free throw shooter to boot, but pretty sure there will be stiff competition from the big boys for this kid.

Forget my question above, just saw it's because of OK State's violations and one year ban. He'd be a dream pickup for sure.

Just saying... not a lot of schools have open ships right now. We also have PT for him. Trying to think positive and I’d love to see us fill the roster spot and this kid would be an impact pickup.

Anei, who will be a junior next season, will file a waiver to gain immediate eligibility to be able to play wherever he chooses to transfer.

As of now Anei will be required to apply for a waiver to attain immediate eligibility at the college he transfers to, according to NCAA rules. However, with OSU serving a postseason ban and other punishments in the aftermath of the FBI probe, he may have a higher chance than most of being granted immediate eligibility.

I would love to have Anei ! The kid is a player and fits our system well.

Anei and Coach Cleveland already following each other after the news. Would love to get this guy. Would think he has a great chance to start at center from day 1 if this could happen.

Other coaches Anei followed after the news are assistants from UT-Arlington, Boise State and Western Kentucky.

Boom!! I like that Cleveland is on it. CMA also has recruited from the kid’s HS and AAU in the past, when he was at Missou and possibly even after that. Go get him!

Read that Arkansas had interest in Yor's senior HS year.
The kid lost 2 fingers on his right hand when very young but he's a lefty.
Would be a great pickip this late.
