19-20 Transfers
Source: UConn’s Sidney Wilson is in the transfer portal. The redshirt sophomore averaged 3.5 points per game. Has upside, could be decent find for another program.

@VerbalCommits with it first.

Hurley nudge as he should have
If I am a coach I'm leery.

Last two HC's he committed to are no longer coaching CBB.

Won’t he lose a year of eligibility since he already sat out a year after transferring from us?

Yup barring a waiver. And even if the NCAA grants that one time transfer option where you don't have to sit a year he wouldn't qualify for that either since this technically would be his second transfer.

Sid Wilson said the coaching staff told him they were looking to recruit another forward.
"Basketball's a business, so I had to make a decision for myself.“

He might make the bottom ten of many posters here, but the kid has put himself in a bind. I know, i know...

Iona here he comes

Once USF’s Charles Minlend Jr. entered his name into the transfer portal he immediately found himself with a long list of suitors. Scoring 14.5 points per game, Mindlend Jr. became one of the top-scoring transfers on the market.

“Indiana, Illinois, Oklahoma, Gonzaga, BYU, VCU, Wichita State, Washington State, Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon State, UCLA, Iowa State, Butler, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, UConn, Mississippi State, NC State, Wake Forest, Marquette, DePaul, Cincinnati, Temple,” Minlend Jr. told Stockrisers.com.

In addition, later on in the evening last night, he said he heard from St. John’s and Ohio State.

As far as what comes next it is indeed a very overwhelming time for him as he’s hearing from so many programs. It’s likely that he takes the virtual visits that the NCAA are currently allowing college coaches to do with prospects due to the pandemic [COVID-19].

He also says that he will try and cut things down within the next week or so as more schools are expected to reach out.

Why wouldn't we be #1?

Forgive me if I don't know why didn't he come here to begin with?

What is it about us not getting sons of former players?

Just because it’s his fathers alma mater doesn’t mean we SHOULD be his number one choice.

When Peyton Manning was being recruited, he wouldn't even speak with Ole Miss. Some kids just don't want that burden. Can't say I blame them.

For many families STJ is the first door passed through on the path to higher education. The next generation is already through that door and looking around at how many options there really are.

As expected, Pitt transfer Trey McGowens has committed to Nebraska w Matt on it, per his Twitter page.

Fits his IMO. A kid that seems talented but clearly has some baggage and apparently alienated half of his teammates. Might work out, or might be Cam Mack Part II.

Well they do have to replace Cam.

Stating the obvious but Charles Minlend was not exactly Peyton Manning though he was a fine player for us.

Living in Northern California I see a lot of WCC games, mostly Saint Mary’s and USF. I’ve seen Charles Minlend many times and like his game, however I think Williams is better, and if many on this site are correct about Cole, so is he. I only see Minlend fitting in if LJ leaves because he can play the 3.
