19-20 Transfers
Why wouldn't we be #1?
Cole
Williams
Caraher
Dunn
Figueroa

Until things shake out and we know exactly who is playing where, those guys are clogging Minlend's path to the amount of PT he'd want in his last season of college ball.

Exactly and you can also add Moore and Earlington to that group as they too will play the 3 some time over the next season.
If LJ or anyone else leaves and a ship opens I would love to see it go to a freshman forward or post player to help us balance our classes, a sophomore with immediate eligibility to the extent that could exist or to a grad transfer at a position where we really need help. But truth be told since we just picked up a grad transfer to play the post we don’t have a glaring weakness for 20-21. We are very deep with good and role players, something we have not had since 1985. No Berry or Mullin but a host of players like LJ, Dunn, Moore, Cole, Earlington, Champagnie and Williams who could or should all average around double figures next season. A nice group of solid players like Posh, Roberts, Caraher, Turo who each bring something valuable to the table and hopefully some minutes for Wusu and McGriff to get théir feet wet at this level.
No need to bring in a player when there is no need for skill level at that certain position. That is what causes unhappiness and transfers.

It will be very nice to see a full complement of scholarship players on the bench next season, all of whom have the ability to contribute at the Big East level.

I can't remember the last year that such was the case.
Props to CMA and his staff for making that happen

Very familiar name

Ohio State sophomore guard Luther Muhammad will enter the transfer portal.

Interesting list of schools considering he’s from NJ. Maybe a change of scene to the west coast is what he’s looking for.

Pretty common knowledge Muhammad was down to Ohio State and St. John’s with the decision largely binging on geography. He decided to get out of the metropolitan area and from that list it appears he may still feel that way.

Don’t think that’s right. Believe he would have gone to Xavier if not OSU.

It was not geography. This recruitment was an early alarm bell of the overall poor recruiting of previous staff. The previous HC lackadaisical attitude towards recruiting prep kids and over reliance on transfers began to rear its ugly head especially wrt to other staffs engaging in negative recruiting.

Rothstein

Sources: If the NCAA votes in June to allow a one-time transfer rule with immediate eligibility, it is likely to begin during the 21-22 season.

Believe what you want. It was stay home or go away so the choice between Xavier and OSU was done before his final decision was made. They were in competition with each other, not SJU.

Maybe to you now and maybe eventually to Muhammed then but if he decided to stay home he was going to SJU. I posted it at the time and if you took exception then, ok, I don’t remember if you did or not but I don’t buy into hindsight. I put more stock in what I heard from the horses mouth at the time. Moot argument.......

Could be but SJU was not his second choice.
