19-20 Transfers

At this point, I just want a guy who looks like he's 35 and did some time in the Golden Gloves.
Basically, I want Moses Scurry.
Right now.

Too bad, I would love to see us get a kid like this. Upward and onward.

When Zach said "inaccurate" he was referring to the guy that responded to the OP's tweet saying that Toro was only a back-up that barely played. He didn't confirm nor deny the OP's post about he's hearing we'll land him. He did respond again in that post saying he thought Toro's stats of grabbing 7 rebounds in 18 MPG was pretty good.

JPM114 texted me following on Toro;

“I know Toro from his St. Benedict's time...in those days he showed that craftiness and skill I thought he ended up in a good place at GW (right level)”

Imo, Toro has more offensive skills than Sears, but obviously more of a functional player looking at video than high impact guy. Unless you can do better, which I doubt, grab him if he’s interested & concentrate on 21 recruits

Jeff Borzello

Maryland transfers Makhi and Makhel Mitchell have committed to Rhode Island. Makhi, a former ESPN 100 prospect, averaged 3.0 points and 3.3 rebounds. Makhel, a former four-star prospect, played sparingly.

Would grab him in a heart beat. Beggars can't be choosers. Definite upgrade over Sears.

We played really well down the stretch w Champ and Duke as our bigs. Don’t really need an impact player but a big that can provide valuable minutes. Would have loved to get Marco, but 1 in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. Of course want to make sure he’s healthy.

At this point we need a big guy any way we can get him. No suppose I’m tired of us being beggars, but we played real well this year down the stretch and are getting better with every addition. This staff I trust and they know a lot better than I do. They performed magic last year and even Rutherford was an amazing surprise whom I thought would do nothing.

Correct. That was our best lineup. We could use a banger for some minutes here and there off the bench, but I think Coach mike found something with the duke/penny as the bigs lineup.

Those are my thoughts exactly. Champaigne is not a small kid, he's 6'8 220 right now, he'll probably come back a little bigger next year, he's not going to give up too much size playing the 5 spot in small ball like he did this year. I'd be shocked if him and Earlington didn't play a good amount of minutes alongside side each other again this upcoming season, it worked well.

Both Earlington and champs have essentially become stretch PF’s who can do a bit of everything. I definitely expect both to be even more versatile up from next year.

I hope stronger not too much bigger (a little in height wouldn't be bad). Sometimes guys bulk up too much and lose their athleticism and effectiveness,

New Mexico forward Vance Jackson has entered his name into the Transfer Portal. Grad-transfer for the fall that averaged over 11 points and five rebounds last season.
@RivalsPortal

I have to say, he knows how to use his body really well inside. Would help us a ton scoring down low.
