It seems we wouldn't be too attractive a landing spot for D. Smith if we get Kadary and it'd be his ball. Looks like one or the other to me, with Kadary looking like the favorite.

Without any inside info, my guess is that staff would probably prefer Smith, but Kadary is more likely and we take whichever we can land first. The whole bird in a hand is better than two in a bush thing.

Maybe I read it wrong but I thought the bit about slacking at practice and clashing with his coach was a reference to Kadary not Pop Isaac.

I just don't see a world where Kadary and Smith are both here. They don't complement each other at all. Perhaps I'm looking too much into it but the staff still pursuing Smith hard makes me think perhaps Kadary isn't the foregone conclusion many believe. Unless the staff is just covering their bases in case the Kadary situation plays out like Cliff did.

Or it's the opposite and we know we aren't getting Smith, so Kadary popped in.

I don’t think we have the $ for both regardless. If there’s anything we’ve learned during this crazy portal season, it’s that nothing is a foregone conclusion until the player signs. And even then . . .

Gotta feel badly for a good program and HC because of Nil$ issues these crazy days. This used to be and was us very recently, until Rick and Repole rode in from the dust against a blue sky, lol.
