Dylan scored 25 today on 9-13 from the field 4-6 of three and 3-3 from the line with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. He has his faults, but he is very clearly a Big East level player.
I agree but on a well coached team he’d have a different role that emphasizes his strengths and reigns in his bad inclinations.

To be fair, Wusu is maybe the biggest victim of the total lack of coaching. He was an under recruited kid who has done talent but needed to be molded and coached up into a defined role. There’s no way he should have been designated a primary bill handler. And he should have been reigned in with his out of control drives and blocks at the basket.

He’s a tough strong kid who could have developed nicely if coached right. This staff like most I guess pick favorites and in this case has blinded them to the deficiencies.
He really is a top 8 rotation guy on most BE teams, but not a prime time guy. Only at SJ would he be handling the ball like a PG so often, really unfair to him. He battled today and has had his moments this year, but on any of the solid BE teams he would not be a lead guard w a lot of minutes.

Who was the last “go to guy” for the Johnnies who could make plays at crunch time, either scoring or hitting right guys in good position to score. Respected Julian, but never felt that way about him. I think this is a big part of us not being able to close out wins.

There's lots of details most of us aren't privy to, but to me the big gaffe was not necessarily the extension but not incorporating a very reasonable buyout if you are going to do an extension after that good second year when most were optimistic where things were going. Hopefully they learned a hard lesson from that mistake. Get it right this time. The team has talent, just needs direction.

Gotta agree with this. For all the moaning about how much Anderson is making he was still making a lot more his last season at Arkansas than he made his last (hopefully) season at STJ. You can't claim to want the program to achieve this board's lofty goals while complaining about paying market rate for an accomplished coach, especially in a high COL market. Unless of course you want them to go back to being a mom and pop low pay organization. Besides it's just money. Focus on the results. And if the school looks at it this way as well then I predict (even more) long term pain.

Pautltz, respectfully disagree just a little bit. Imho, Dylan would would be top guy off the bench (6th or 7th man) on any of Nova, Creighton, Xavier or Providence this year. Agree he is not a top prime time guy but very solid BE player.

To me top 8, but like you said maybe 7.
