Thank you coach P! In all the disappointment of losing a series we thought we could win, a little perspective like this is most welcome. I am as guilty as any of us Knick fans in losing it during the excitement of the game and criticizing players, but we need to remember we made the conference finals for the first time in 25 years and this team has given us three consecutive years of real playoff excitement. The Knicks and Johnnies are really the only two sports teams I live and die with and believe me for a long suffering Knick fan the last three years have been great.
None of these guys are all of a sudden bums. Indiana was a tough matchup for Brunson in that they could throw both Nesmith & Nemhardt at him and really wear him down but Jalen had a terrific season and was also big getting us to the conference finals. I expect barring a big trade which is hard to imagine given our lack of assets, that we bring the core 7 back and add a couple of better bench pieces who can provided more size and speed off the bench. As I said in another post, draft RJ, sign Kadary and give Aaron a look in summer league lol!
NCJ: With you on the Johnnies, and was right there living and dying with the Knicks for the years, 12 y.o. to -50 y.o., after hitting 50, my interest in the NBA waned, stayed a Knick fan, but the thrill for the NBA game left me.
Since around 1968 my Johnny fandom never ebbed and flowed; when we were great, good and even when we were awful, I was always there. So the resurgence under Pitino thrills me beyond belief.
Under Tibs, I have gotten much more into the Knicks and I like his defense first pholosophy. A little like Pitino with Defense first. Here is the irony, our last season was ruled by our strong "D", and despite Tibs, the Knicks' "D" is what let them down in the end.
Agree wholeheartdly, this group of Knicks played their asses off and got really far. I'll be rooting for them in the future and having both home MSG BB squads being good to great at the same time I consider a blessing.
Kudos to Pres. Shanley, Ed Kull and our Administration and kudos to Leon Rose and his team for re-establishing these Knicks. Good for JD (of JD and The Straight Shot) for not interfering, but can't say much good about Dolan after watching him slouch through that deposition in the Isiah harassment lawsuit.

, Plus, get rid of this silly ban of Oak, and banning any lawyer from any law firm who has even thought about suing any MSG enterprise, reeks of Roy Cohn.
