(NCAA-WEST/Providence) #15 Omaha, Thu., Mar. 20, 9:45p, CBS

I truly believe many of those so called. Pundits have rarely , if ever , seen us play .

Hurley , Shaka and McDermott all played us 2-3 times and only 1 got a win .

These aren’t 2nd tier Coaches and they couldn’t come up with a game plan to beat us .

We bulldozed through the BET and wonevery game by double digits .

Plus , we have Houdini on the sidelines in Coach Pitino . No disrespect to Omaha but , we have only lost 4 games by a total of 7 points .
No one has blown us out .

Our starting 5 are tenacious defenders and only ticky tack Referees could impede our progress .

Until teams get on the Court with us , they have no idea how tough our defense is . Sure , we are physical but , BB is a tough game .

The only thing I’m concerned about is the 2 nd game Saturday against Kansas - Arkansas winner . Kansas , has that blue blood Rep and knowing how manipulative the NCAA powers are , we could get screwed by a pro Jay Hawk crew .
Arkansas just isn’t in the same category , regardless of Boogie .

Still , I like our chances to advance to the 2nd round weekend,At a minimum .

We get the win against Omaha but I hate the game time/region bracket we are in so I expect some sluggishness against a team that will be giving 110 percent. Also not really happy drawing Kansas/Arkansas for Round of 32. The committee really screwed us. I was really hoping we could have got East region and played in Newark.

From The Athletic--

No. 2 St. John’s Red Storm vs. No. 15 Omaha Mavericks

Upset Chance: 5.9 percent

Kudos to the Mavs, champions of the Summit League, on their first NCAA tournament appearance since joining Division I. It’s likely to be a brief stay, though. They’re one of the worst teams in the country at forcing turnovers, and they rank just 205th in offensive rebounding (29.2 percent). As you should know by now, those are two of the most important rocks that a successful David has in its slingshot.

Those deficiencies will be even more pronounced against St. John’s, which happens to excel in both categories (9th in offensive rebounding, 13th in forcing turnovers). The Johnnies are an inconsistent shooting team, and that could cost them at some point. But their toughness on defense and relentless work on the boards should overwhelm Omaha, regardless of how poorly the Red Storm shoot from deep.

Count me in the group that suspects ESPN as scripting worst case scenarios for Big East teams that appear mostly on Fox. ESPN might have some influence over NCAA decision making and memories of Jarvis (Barkley affair) and Lapchick (opting for NIT ahead of NCAA) linger in NCAA belief system. This crap almost makes me like UConn on rare occasions.

Good stuff here. The author knows what they are talking about.

ESPIN controls the narrative. They pimp the SEC out. The shills working for the network push the narrative. The dopes watching on TV (at least the majority) eat it up. This is partly why BAMA got into the CFB playoffs last season, and why teams like Texas, Oklahoma, etc. are polluting the field. Expect it to get worse.

Gonna Cc my buddy @bamafan on this for all purposes 😜

This guy doesn't completely nail it. But he gets closer than most.

When people talk about our D and rebounding, they always talk about it along the lines of preventing the other team from scoring. But one of the biggest benefits is our offense.

Here's a little nugget to use on your friends when they question SJUs shooting: we're 11th in the country in FGM/game. Why? Because we turn you over 20 times a game and get 15 offensive rebounds. Your team shot 25-50 from the field and we shot 30-72? Congratulations, you had a higher shooting percentage. We won by ten because we had 15 more possessions than you. Next.

Thing is it’s not just ESPN it’s universal about the SEC. ESPN doesn’t televise the tournament.

ESPN is complete anti-Big East. They have no coverage on their website. Front Page NCAA Scores never include BE Teams. Even with the number 6 team in the Nation I had to dig into the scores page as they weren't listed. As Mad Dog would Say "Terrible Job by ESPN"
