(NCAA-WEST/Providence) #15 Omaha, Thu., Mar. 20, 9:45p, CBS

IJDK why it is necessary to incessantly call Vince out, especially after a 30 point win where he played well (he's played better as the season has gone on).

I don't think he's played better as the season goes on at all. He's had two decent games. He was terrible the two before that. And nothing is necessary on a fan forum.

I love how these guys are just crushing opponents in the 2nd half. Hate to mention UConn in a good way, but we're crushing everyone the way they did at this time 2 years ago and last. We'll probably beat down Arky by 15+.

Just looked. Last 4 games, starting with Butler in the B.E Tourny, won every game by atleast 16pnts.

On a side note: A big thank you to whoever invented coffee, it's my medication today.

We won by 30 points last night. To call any basket one of the biggest in the last 25 years is completely insane.
Game situation, time and place in both our 1st BE final and 1st Ncaa win in 25 years. You may not have recognized it as such as it occurred. I would bet that I'm not alone, and that some other fans/posters understood the magnitude of those 2 shots, and 1 ft, as well.

We won by 30 points! We don't go on runs because of one shot...we do it because the other team gets exhausted and our guys know they can go all out. It's like a boxer feeling out the first half of the rounds so he doesn't gas out. If we had another 1-2 guys that were capable of playing 20 minutes regularly, we would be able to play like this for 40 minutes. We have just have 6 this year.

Anyone who "understood the magnitude" of that shot last night hasn't been paying attention this season and is a worrywart. I wait for us to go down 7-10 before I place my bets. I'm sure hundreds of others do the same.

I would consider calling these guys The Body Snatchers, because each game is starting to pick up a familiar pattern. Slow start, energy provided from the bench, game is stabilized at the 10-12 minute mark, late surge in the first half to take the lead, or keep it within a possession or two, flurry to start the second half, and then taking the opponent to deep water and drown them in the last 10 minutes. They are a relentless body attack in basketball terms. Nice efforts tonight from Luis, Wilcher and Prey off the bench. They have been an absolute joy to watch this year - now they need to have a Pig Roast tomorrow!

Most of us know how big Vince has stepped up lately. Dont waste your time on this.

I'd agree but Vince's shot was big because it was right before halftime and definitely gave the team a bit of a psychological lift heading into the break up 5 instead of up 2.

Listen. This is all I meant.

It is undeniable that these last 2 game were our biggest in 25 years as they were our 1st BE tournament and 1st Ncaa win in that time frame. Right?

Starting from the assumption that all baskets are not created equal, a bucket in the 1st minute making the score 4 - 2 is not the same as a game winner in triple overtime. Right?

So looking objectively at every basket we made in the Creighton game, many including myself, thought the Vince jump hook over Kalk giving us our 1st lead in the 2nd half was the "biggest". Others, not me, started posting that both at the time and after the game.

Yesterday, at the end of a 1st half that featured an awful start and much bad play from us, Omaha has the ball in the closing seconds looking to tie or take the lead and carry huge momentum into the half. Instead they turn it over and Vince converts an old fashioned 3 with 1 second remaining, switching momentum strongly to our side. A basket so huge that even a curmudgeon and Vince antagonist such as yourself posted; "Vince!". How it could it not have been the "biggest" basket of the game?

Really? 6 days ago you posted that Vince was “unplayable” and 7 days ago you posted “Vince gave us the worst minute of basketball ive ever seen. He has turned into a total disaster.”

You claimed all offseason that Vince would be an all-league starter for us and that Zuby wasn’t a Big East caliber starter.

It took 25 years, but the monkey is off the Red Storm back. Thursday, St. John’s discarded the Omaha Mavericks like trash in round 1 of the NCAA tournament by 30. Kevin Connelly of StormThePaint is on site in Providence and joins me to recap the win and preview Saturday’s epic Pitino vs Calipari match up as the Red Storm face the Razorbacks at 2:40

It’s not that they were “bad” looks from 3 to start… the guys were Open… it was that there was 0 ball movement the first couple possessions… weird to see.

I have 0 issue with everyone … ehh… maybe not Kadary… taking an Open 3. Would just like to see the ball movement / rotation prior
I think we had only one pass on our first four possessions.
