Absolutely, and as the saying goes “defense travels”.One thing we have had this season is consistently relentless defense. That has carried us and it will again. Most teams not ready for us in that respect.

Omaha “shrink” on disabled list I assume
Durango the Maverick 63Quart of Jameson: 90
Banging Trash Cans: 73
Count me in the group that suspects ESPN as scripting worst case scenarios for Big East teams that appear mostly on Fox. ESPN might have some influence over NCAA decision making and memories of Jarvis (Barkley affair) and Lapchick (opting for NIT ahead of NCAA) linger in NCAA belief system. This crap almost makes me like UConn on rare occasions. We get the win against Omaha but I hate the game time/region bracket we are in so I expect some sluggishness against a team that will be giving 110 percent. Also not really happy drawing Kansas/Arkansas for Round of 32. The committee really screwed us. I was really hoping we could have got East region and played in Newark.
From The Athletic--
No. 2 St. John’s Red Storm vs. No. 15 Omaha Mavericks
Upset Chance: 5.9 percent
Kudos to the Mavs, champions of the Summit League, on their first NCAA tournament appearance since joining Division I. It’s likely to be a brief stay, though. They’re one of the worst teams in the country at forcing turnovers, and they rank just 205th in offensive rebounding (29.2 percent). As you should know by now, those are two of the most important rocks that a successful David has in its slingshot.
Those deficiencies will be even more pronounced against St. John’s, which happens to excel in both categories (9th in offensive rebounding, 13th in forcing turnovers). The Johnnies are an inconsistent shooting team, and that could cost them at some point. But their toughness on defense and relentless work on the boards should overwhelm Omaha, regardless of how poorly the Red Storm shoot from deep.

This guy doesn't completely nail it. But he gets closer than most. From The Athletic--

Thing is it’s not just ESPN it’s universal about the SEC. ESPN doesn’t televise the tournament.ESPIN controls the narrative. They pimp the SEC out. The shills working for the network push the narrative. The dopes watching on TV (at least the majority) eat it up. This is partly why BAMA got into the CFB playoffs last season, and why teams like Texas, Oklahoma, etc. are polluting the field. Expect it to get worse.
Gonna Cc my buddy @bamafan on this for all purposes![]()
100% agree with you.
Omaha gives up a lot of points. I think we might put up 90 or so in this one.
Omaha is small, so he should have his way offensively.Zuby is going to go absolutely ballistic in this game. 25 and 16.
At least by 27 points win, gonna stomp them out, then take one of their trash cans, put a cherry bomb under it, and blow it up.Chucky has lost his mind. Let's wipe the floor with the Mavericks so Chucky can eat crow.
