I don't want to start any rumors, but I was told by someone close to the situation that Coack K is bored out of his mind. He hates golf, and the only thing he hates more than golf is his grandchildren. The only one who he likes goes to NYU. Hmmmmmmm.

People are just speculating regarding Brey. Nothing is confirmed.

To be clear, all of the Brey stuff is just pure speculation and partially me putting pieces together that probably don't fit

2. Pitino will always push the envelope/boundaries of what's permissible

Yeah but what's impermissible anymore? He probably has more big money contacts in NY than all the post Looie hires combined. Great NIL opportunities. Higher profile as well obviously. Even if he has to play the disgruntled transfer market the first year or two his roster would still be stronger than we're used to and probably his staff as well. And the media exposure would be significant with it all being positive except maybe in the pre church handouts.

There is at least one person on this board who I know could 100 percent confirm that Cragg and Brey discussed the job more than once the last time we were in the market for a coach. Yes, it's speculation, but it's pretty strong speculation. I think and hope we go a different direction, but no one here should be shocked at all if Mug ends up looking like Nostradamus.

Brey has been avg at best since ND join the AC, pass.
 
Didn’t Brey also have an extramarital situation as well not too long ago?

I see you stole my list. 😝. I’ll post it here too. Here are realistic coaches that would probably take the SJU should it become available (In order)

1. Speedy Claxton (Hofstra Coach)
2. Brandin Knight (Rutger Assistant and profession dirty Jimmy boheim troller)
3. Bob Richey (Furman Coach)
4. Donald Copeland (Wagner Coach)

Personally, I like Copeland more than Richey but I think people would go nuts if he was hired even though I believe he will be a very successful coach.

All winners are high IQ guys. Speedy/Brandin/Copeland obviously have very strong tri-state area ties, Richey has the HC experience.

I’m not a fan of Brey either mostly because ND was the death knell in the coffin of the geographically appropriate big east. But all the problems you have with Brey are the same problems with Pitino. The exception being Brey is 6 years younger and he doesn’t carry the NCAA baggage. Also, I probably should wiki this but didn’t ND go to back to back elite 8s not too long ago mid 2010s maybe.

Should the position come open, I’m just hoping we hire someone under 50.
