Your prediction re: St. John's Win/ loss record is

It is unfortunate but realistically, we will be lucky to win 15

And to think I was scolded as one of maybe 2 or 3 guys on the entire forum to predict winning about 15 or 16 games.

You're both wrong. 18 wins, with 2 more in the BET. Bubble team.

We are a bubble team? That means we must have to beat teams like L'Ville/Cincy/Cuse/G'Town...which one of those are we beating after having cupcakes threaten us?

I say 17 wins. Once the BE starts, its crazy, and we will win a few we are not expecting. It always happens that way.

You guys are nuts if you think we can do anything come BE tourney time which we would have to make noise in to have any chance at a postseason in addition to beating a few ranked teams. In 2011 we didn't even get far with the team that beat Duke, Pitt, and Nova and was ranked #18 at one point. To even get a few votes for the top 25 would be a huge feat for us this year. Until we have an inside presence and a big time rebounder, we won't go anywhere and our ceiling will be 17 wins.

True, but with this team we`ll also lose a few that we are expected to win or should we expect wins this year? Are we that much better then DePaul, Rutgers or Seton Hall

You do recall Kennedy broke his leg at the very beginning of the Cuse game. We would have won that game if he played.

With the format of the BET, double byes for the top teams, combined with Uconn being out, we can win two games---and possibly 3---depending on how much we improve during conference play. I'm an optimist.

The point is that as a result of their recent play in San Francisco and with UNC Ashville it is obvious that this is a team that needs a lot of practice and discipline. I dont see it happening in a short time. With the BE schedule coming up and with only 8 wins under their belt I dont see them winning more than 7 BE games. But of course hope springs eternal

We need to win out to make tourney!

No we don't. We can lose a game and make it. Maybe lose 2 and make it. Maybe.

If we lose two the rest of the way then we have to win two in the BE Tourney to make the NCAA's. We have to get to 20 wins between now and the end of the Big East Tournament.

Wouldnt be so sure about that. 19 might cut it with a SOS and RPI high.

8-10 to 9-9 in the Big East, with USF the only sure win and perhaps one more. No NCAA but possible NIT with at least one BE tourney win.

I believe we would get a NIT invitewith a .500 record.
