Yankees 2024 Season

Shocker. Rizzo with concussion issues. We all knew that. How come Boone kept saying he was healthy? It's becoming harder to root for this organization.

Wow. 2 wins in a row. Always sweet against the cheating Astros.

I find it interesting that Boone is always hanging on the dugout padding all by his lonesome. Does he ever get input from any coaches? Guess he thinks he's the smartest person in the room.

Not sure why Schmidt couldn't come out for the 6th.

Nice at bat by Volpe on the game winner. He's a good base stealer, but does not seem to get good reads in balls in the dirt.

Torres with a double cluth on a potential DP ball that didn't hurt them.

King with an absolute brain fart on the ball ge fieded. Get the out at 1st.

I did not see the game he got hurt in but did see the replay and I said then they better check him for a concussion. I heard one or two talking heads say it but all we kept hearing the first couple of days was he was being held out due to soreness from the collision. They never said they had checked him for one. Is this the first time they tested him since that collision? If so, once again the incompetence of their medical department surfaces.😡😡😡😡

Schmidt didn’t come out for the 6th because he is a “five and fly” pitcher (at least that is how they treat him). They seldom let him go beyond the fifth. I don’t know if it is a load management thing (I saw a stat that this is the most innings he has ever pitched in a season going into this game and he hadn’t thrown close to this many innings in a season since his sophomore year in college, it was like a 3 inning difference IIRC) his pitch count being high or they just don’t trust him to go a full three turns through the lineup.

game 109.
yanks edge the hottest team in beisball, w/c contender, and bitter rival in thrilla.
pitching change in 6th as boonie wanted lefty peralta to face lefty tucker, the astros best hitter.
tucker clocked him.
bravo to red hot stanton, trying for a late run as yanks fan favorite.

boonie all year has been - except for cy cole - starter goes 5, then 4 from pen go 4 innings.

Right, formula over instinct.
