Went to the game. Hot and humid. No breeze at all, and the Yankees bats put everyone to sleep early. However, a bunch of poor outfield plays by IKF and Stanton, and a dumb baserunning blunder by Higashioka got my blood boiling even more.
Ramirez settled things down, the rest of the bullpen followed, and FINALLY, the bats showed some life, the rain held off, and Delaware came home a happy camper. I give Yankees fans credit. Every night 40K fans show up (tonight 46K!) to cheer this offensively challenged team. But when they hit homers (and the other team's pitcher (an All-Star), wild pitches in the tying run) they have a chance.
An exciting, comeback win. Wanting to really believe in this team, but they disappoint me far too often.
Did not stay for the fireworks.
