Yankees 2024 Season

I accept my 40 lashes as believe it or not I was streaming the game on my computer with no sound on as I watched something else on the TV and didn’t realize it was a perfect game. When I saw German jumping around I figured he was just happy to have pitched a complete game shutout. When I saw teammates join in figured it was a no hitter. When I saw everyone going crazy I turned on the sound and learned it was a perfect game.

I am out of town and hung out with some buddies who moved down to Florida yesterday. Got back to the resort and checked on the score and turned the game on in the top of the 5th on the YES Ap through FIOS. Fought to stay awake but dozed off not realizing he had a perfect game. Was half a sleep an heard a reference that alluded to it and woke back up to catch the last two outs.
 
So the Yanks were not going to win this game with the way Severino threw the ball today. So ridiculously inconsistent this year. But once again, they played a terribly sloppy game. Cabrera is not a good infielder. Rather see him in the outfield. Another pitcher who can't even make a throw to a base. And although they were down a ton of runs, why not send Volpe from 3rd on a fly ball to RF? Thought he was fast. The less than brilliant Boone sits Bader, Donaldson and Stanton after decent games the other night. I would be frustrated playing for a manager like Boone. Just never know where they stand.

Boone & Cashman keep getting rewarded for what I'd call upper mediocrity so why should we expect anything more? Just no fun to watch this team.
 
I think Cole not starting because they are afraid of multiple rain delays.
 
This home plate ump will not be on the Yankees Christmas card list. That 3-1 pitch to DJ in the third inning was not even close, which pretty much killed that rally.

Even worse, he lets the Cardinals get away with blatant cheating in that 7th inning. He let the catcher reset his pads 2 or 3 times, while the Cardinal dugout was clearly looking out to the bullpen, looking to get the signal that Gallegos was ready. Jose Trevino was the scheduled batter, and he was very upset about it. Being a catcher, he knew exactly what was going on.

Cardinals absolutely deserved the win, no doubt. However, they had a bit of help from that masked man behind the plate.
 
Yet another uninspiring game from the Yanks on their way home. Cole wasn't terrible but a last place team put too many good at bats against him. Of course, once again, this pathetic offense couldn't get out of their own way. 3 hits.

I don't blame Boone for wanting to leave early. 3 - 3 road trip against 2 last place teams. Horrible.

Nice job by Cordero keeping the game close. Not.

I'm going to the Orioles game tomorrow night. Not expecting much from this always disappointing collection of misfits. And as always, Boone thought the Yankees at bats were solid. Clueless. The words he chooses never match the performance of the team.
