Yankees 2024 Season

Yanks looked great for 6 innings and then just fell apart across the board, blowing a 5-1 lead giving up 7 so far in the 7th inning. Had to turn it off! IMO Boone left pitchers in way too long.

The Yankees bullpen is not vaunted. King and Peralta are probably the best. After the leadoff walk by Cortes, it was time to go get him.

They had one last chance in the 7th, but quite honestly, DJLM looked horrible against the lefty. Bad loss. Need to win this series, especially at home.

game 51.
brutal loss.
stache was sailing along and just lost it. boonie let him pitch one batter too much.
going into last nights game, the yank pen had lowest era in mlb.
the pen lost it. the defense just could not/did not make the stops.
bottom of 7. bases loaded. one out. nothing. i turned tv off.

If you have been a longtime Yankee fan you know there was always accountability in the George era. Today , sadly, there is no accountability because ownership does not demand it. If they did, there would be no more Aaron Boone repeating the same mistakes over and over. I’m not asking for Mr Bluster, just for Boone being accountable to WINNING every game! There would be no consecutive off days during a red hot hitting streak for Aaron Judge! Some of THE dumbest baseball I have ever seen!

Are you saying the bullpen wasn’t last night or overall.

Pretty sure they still have best bullpen era in MLB

I think they're overrated. Just my opinion. In general, bullpens across baseball are not very good.

Well that’s why they aren’t starters

I’m confused though. Is the team with the highest FT percentage the best FT shooting team?

I mean overrated is odd. They are without at least 3 arms in Lasagna Kahnle and Trivino and still lowest era in MLB. That isn’t overrated.

Two new Yankees pitchers added to the long line of those that cannot field their position, let alone catch a friggin throw. And Volpe's misplay in the 1st inning cost Schmidt 18 pitches, the equivalent of a full inning. And Holmes did a great job of keeping the ball on the ground. Not. In all fairness, Peralta's 2 walks didn't help. But it's hard to win a game when you get only a run and 3 hits. Bad series loss.

game 52.
2 mere singles and zero runs in first 8 innings.
yanks defense does not make the easy/good plays, volpe, rizzo, pitcher covering 1st, another pitcher covering first.

I know this is an unpopular decision but I think it is time to send Volpe down and replace him with Peraza who is doing a nice job with SWB.
Volpe has struck out 62 times in 182 ABs. His fielding is just okay. He has been helped out by scoring on ”hits” and Rizzo fielding of his throws.
He is being saved by being the darling of the fans.

He needs to bat 9th, not leadoff, not 6th. He’s trying to do too much.

Peraza is definitely a better SS. That’s never a question. But I’m not sending him down. That’s a non starter. Problem is if this is the real Gleyber. Or will he go back to his worse form. I’d entertain trading Gleyber.
