Yankees 2024 Season

The great Cashman played this perfectly. Lowball him preseason. Announce it to the press that he turned down 213. Flip it until the end of the year and bend over and give him an extra 150M for 2 years. Judge is laughing all the way to the bank.

But the thing about the Yanks is that they virtually unlimited $$ to spend. Don't be surprised if the get Rodon for 35M over 7 and the Japanese outfielder.

Yanks need to win now and they are opening the wallet...

They better as the window is closing.

Red Sux got the Japanese outfielder. And Jansen.

Guys on SF talk radio were so pissed. Want the Giants to fire Farhan Zaidi immediately.

I think someone should have seen if Judge would take a two- or three-year deal at $50 million a year. Outplay or come close to living up to that contract and Judge makes more than the $360 million before he's done. If not, he still ends up around $360 million with lesser follow-up contract, but has more freedom after the short initial contract.

Rumor has it that is what the Dodgers were offering. Padres offered somewhere around $400M. Padres have now lost out on two free agents (Judge and Turner) where they offered the larger overall contract value.

They did get a good one in Bogarts.

While we did re-sign Rizzo early and now Judge, the Met are surely not letting any grass grow under their feet addressing all of their needs expeditiously.

They also need a closer and a left fielder (Benie?) Right now they are actually weaker than last year.

Cashman? Please. This is Hal. Cashman isn't picking the numbers that are being offered. Its the owner's money. He goes to Hal and Hal says how high he can go.

9 years is a lot. Same logic as Cole deal applies. If you get your money's worth in the first 6 years the rest won't matter. Win 2 WS titles in 6 years and its worth it.
