Yankees 2024 Season

Too many pitchers that do not throw strikes. Deep counts, in trouble all day. Give credit to the Orioles. They have some bats and are patient.

Is there any other sport where the players are more injury prone than baseball?
Well football but that is a “contact“ sport.

Now in keeping with your post’s theme:

Josh Donaldson has been placed on the 10-day IL with a right hamstring strain while Jonathan Loáisiga in what has become a yearly occurrence, has been placed on the 15-day IL with right elbow inflammation. Both IL stints are retroactive to April 6th.

Johny Brito has been recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Willie Calhoun was signed to a Major League contract and selected to the active roster.

Estevan Florial cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and was outrighted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Tommy Kahnle in another “surprise” was moved to the 60-day IL which is how they were able to add Calhoun to the 40 man roster.

Considering the injuries, I've think we've done a good job on the whole, so far. Other than Schmidt, the starting staff has been terrific. Cole, Cortes, and Brito have each had 2 dominant outings. The bullpen is a bit of a concern, but that's the case for most every team. Holmes is looking like the guy we saw first half of last year.

Franchy Cordero has been a nice surprise in the lineup, and this is the best Gleyber Torres has looked in four years. Judge doing his usual thing. DJ's off to a good start too, and Stanton has 3 homers, and seems to be making contact more often.

Only problem right now is that the Rays are on a historic streak to start the year. I know they've played bad teams, but usually even the best of teams slip up once or twice. Going to have to root for the Red Sox this week, in their four game series with Tampa, which is going to be a strange feeling, especially this early in the season.

Because of our good play however, we haven't given them too much of a head start.

Interesting Facts: If Aaron Judge were to keep up his home run pace for the entire season, he would hit 72 home runs! It took him 13 games to hit one home run last season. He has four home runs in 9 games this season.

game 9.
$99 and codero and torres and stanton and rizzo on all star pace.
bravo stache and the cashman pen.
rutschman is da man.
If the Orioles were smart they would lock up Rutschman. Once he hits free agency they will not be able to afford him.

Just hope he doesn’t get beat up behind the plate like Posey who fell off a cliff quick. Position change should always be on the radar

Hitting in bad luck and once again poor baserunning results in Bieber getting out of 2 jams. Also, another Yankee pitcher that can't field his position. Watch it come back to haunt them.

The Yankee pitching staff as a whole is poor fielding. Also, the Yankees seem to have runners thrown out at third an awful lot.

So Bieber has settled in. And all the German walks ends up in a tie game. Yanks should be up 5-0.
