game 2. the inevitable first loss. magic number on hold.
king and holmes, reliable last season, no good this game.
$99 and volpe are clear cut leaders for mvp, roy.
one internet groupie speculated on $99 winning another mvp with 60 gettys and volpe having 20 ballantines and 30 rickey hendersons.

Brito optioned by the Yankees to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Frankie Montas was transferred to the 60-day IL and selected the contract of RHP Ian Hamilton from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The move of Montas to the 60-day IL allows Hamilton to join the 40-man roster and subsequently the 26-man roster with Brito being sent down.
Reports are the Yankees wanted an extra bullpen arm and with the schedule won't need a 5th starter until April 12th and then April 22nd and would prefer Brito to say in a regular rotation in the minors than possibly languishing in the bullpen. Yankees could make another roster move and call someone up for a spot start on the 12th or use an opener and have a "bullpen" game. On the 22nd, Brito could be recalled (he has to stay down for 15 days unless he replaces a player put on the IL) and pitch.

looking at the yanks by recapping the judgeless giants.
giants were shut out twice and struck out 41 times in 97 at bats against the yanks..
giants in game 4 of not playing the yanks, score 12 runs in one game.
bravo stache and the cashman pen.
best yank defensive play was a bad outfield throw.
IMVHO, the 2022 yanks had a notch above average offense.
the 2023 yanks, with a small, sample size, has a healthy and better- dj and stanton , a better stick at ss, less at bats for hicks, a born again donaldson and torres, trevino being used sooner.
