Could have called that from a mile away. Don't agree with it. So prove me wrong Boone/Gardner
Gardner was 3-4 vs. Shane with hr.
Actually he was 1 for 2 vs Bieber with a force out and double. His 3rd AB was the first batter after Bieber was pulled.

But as I posted above he proved to be the right move and has been swinging a hot bat coming into playoffs. My take wasn’t alone. Many felt the same. Just like many scoffed at Wade in the Miami game. Both worked. Boone is gambling well. We should all follow his lead.
Actually I was talking about what gardner was coming into the game against Bieber.
He said it
With those #s why wouldn't he go with gardner over
Frazier and Tuchman
Thanks. Didn't hear or see that myself. Again I wasn't shocked because I figured he would go with Gardner's hot bat ending the season and his experience.

I doubt Tauchman (or Tuchman for that matter) was even in the discussion.

This Yankee team still scares me. They can just as easily lose tonight and tomorrow looking horrible at the dish and scoring two runs combined over the two games.
There are supposed to be wind gusts to 40 mph tonight. Should be interesting!
Game delayed because of incoming rain but if look at the future radar it gets to Cleveland around 9pm. So, they're just gonna sit around waiting for it to come and go before playing?
You got a bunch of geniuses running baseball. 10pm start time?

Now I see estimated first pitch at 7:50, whyyyy?
Supposed to start at 7:05, instead they delay it for 45minutes for nothing, starts at 7:50, just for them to delay it again when the rain comes?
What's the point?

This game has been the total opposite of that Atlanta-Cincy game today.

One guy who's kind of gotten lost in the shuffle tonight, win or lose, is Stanton. 3 great at bats. The homer in the second to get us on the board (prevented a shutdown inning), the walk in front of Urshela's grand slam, and the walk to start this inning. He's staying within himself, and that's a great sign.

Surprised to see Hicks now 6 for 49 with the bases loaded when the pitcher has to throw strikes.

Win and survive. Next is Tampa Bay.

I hope they do a Dodger vs Mets in the 1988 Playoffs (Mets beat Dodgers 10 out of 11 times during the regular season and the Dodgers flipped the script winning the NCLS 4 games to 3 games for the Mets).

This happens quite a bit. St. John's had an Alumni event a two or three years ago at a game at the Stadium and I got there and the game had been postponed at about 5 for a 7PM game due to impending rain. Well within a half hour a deluge came down and it rained steady and pretty hard the rest of the night.

This one MLB botched. They delayed the start, it still showed the rain was coming, and they started the game only to have it start raining during the first and having to put the tarp out in the bottom half of the inning. Both starting pitchers were affected.

Your definition of 'blows it' is quite interesting

Or Spirits of St. Louis after NY Nets beat them 14 of 15 in regular season and first game of playoff series and then S of SL won four straight to win the series behind the play of Marvin Barnes.

That 72-73 Providence college team with Bad News Barnes, Ernie D and Stacom were a fun team to watch. I think they only lost 4 games all year and beat us in a close one that year.

wild card game 2.
congrats to the yanks for advancing
the sticks produced for 2 games
chapman did a rare, for him, 2 inning stint.
to me the rays are the georgetown of baseball.

For what closer in today's game isn't a 2 inning stint rare? This isn't the days of Goose Gossage and Sparky Lyle. ;) :)
Game one is at 8:07 pm Monday night, on TBS.
All the games in this series will be on TBS. Times for games 2-5 TBD.
