Yankees - 2020

Lifelong Yankee fan but this team is kind of hard to enjoy watching. As far as playoffs, feel right at home as a Johnny fan; hope for the best but expect the worst.

It is officially Yankees at Cleveland.

White Sox were down 10-1 in the 8th, got it down to 10-8, and the game ended with the batter, representing the tying run, taking strike 3 on a 2-2 pitch that was below his knees.

7 pm starts for Yankees-Cleveland on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Games will be on either ESPN or TBS (that hasn't been decided yet).

EDIT: Bryan Hoch of MLB.com says both games will be on ESPN.

Yup. A bit like the first two days of the NCAA Tournament.

game 60 in the books
yanks against cleveland
cole against shane bieber - the best 2020 mlb pitcher
maybe yanks should push the rotation back one game and roll the dice with a happ/monty/green/garcia in game one

Bieber captured the 2020 Major League Triple Crown -- a feat that hasn’t been done by any Indians pitcher and hasn’t happened in the big leagues since Johan Santana in 2006. In 1940, Bob Feller won the American League Triple Crown for the Tribe, but he did not lead the Majors in all three categories -- wins, ERA and strikeouts.

Bieber’s eight wins were tied for the most in the Majors with Yu Darvish of the Cubs. Meanwhile, Bieber's 1.63 ERA topped all other pitchers, with Cincinnati's Trevor Bauer finishing second at 1.73. And Bieber's 122 strikeouts won by a landslide, with only Jacob deGrom (104) and Bauer (100) reaching the 100-strikeout mark.

I'm hoping they do like they did 20 years ago where they had a horrible September and still wound up winning the World Series. I don't have much confidence in that happening though.

I'd say Gardy has proven you wrong!

Pitched like Grover Cleveland Alexander this year, but tonight he pitched like Grover Cleveland.

He did. He was swinging a good bat coming into the last few weeks. But I'd rather bring him in off the bench as a defensive replacement. But he performed. Just like to end the season with Boone sat Torres played Wade and Wade hit a HR that ignited a big comeback.

In 2 previous starts against the Yankees he had an era over 8.

Actually he was 1 for 2 vs Bieber with a force out and double. His 3rd AB was the first batter after Bieber was pulled.

But as I posted above he proved to be the right move and has been swinging a hot bat coming into playoffs. My take wasn’t alone. Many felt the same. Just like many scoffed at Wade in the Miami game. Both worked. Boone is gambling well. We should all follow his lead.

Actually I was talking about what gardner was coming into the game against Bieber.
He said it
With those #s why wouldn't he go with gardner over
Frazier and Tuchman

Nice thorough, complete win, on all fronts. Cole was special, Judge got the Yanks going, the add-on runs were great. During the game I was thinking the only change I'd like to see would be Frazier for Stanton as DH, and Stanton hits a bomb. Guess that gets him a lineup spot tonight. Need Tanaka to get the Yanks into the 6th inning with a lead. Carrasco is tough.
