Yankees - 2020

Back to back to back belly to belly to belly another back to back
game 50
another football score
bronx bombers are back
voit/dj are on fire
bravo to stanton for a great game
kraken had a multi hit no k game
i would taken tanaka out after 5 0r 6 innings
good thing tanaka threw innings as holder blew up
and adam oh no again no 1, 2, 3 inning

Voit crushed his Major League-leading 20th home run as the Yankees became the first team in history to hit six or more homers in three consecutive games. It was a power display that Giancarlo Stanton described as “scary,” pushing the Yanks’ winning streak to eight games in a 10-7 victory over the Blue Jays on Thursday night.

In deference to the LGBTQ community John Sterling will now call consecutive home runs as back to back uum belly to belly and uum belly to back. :)

"New York set a major league record for most home runs in a three-game span with 19 -- three more than the previous high"

I was surprised by that stat... you would figure that some team, at some point over the last 100+ years would have hit more than 16 HRs in 3 games.

game 51
full disclosure. i went to sleep when kraken hit the double with bases loaded, 2 outs, and 2 strikes on him to make the score 4 to 2 redsucks. i figured one miracle a game is all i get.
then in the morning - thhhhhhhhhhhe yanks win and kraken gets another miracle.

game 53
congrats on yanks clinching playoff spot
the yanks are one game from playing one third of traditional number of games (162)
voit has 21 homers and 49 rbis
yanks expected to have cole and tanaka as the playoff starters in games 1 and 2

Glad I was wrong about making the playoffs. I really didn't think they had a streak like the one that ended last night in them and to do it with still so many on the IL or just getting back.

game 54 - one third the season in ordinary time
first game after clinching, so boone played his irregulars
giving kraken and gardy some at bats
giving sky king, nelson doubleday, chad and jeremy, and oh no some pitches

The postseason is going to be much different than normal. The no days off in the ALDS is going to hurt you if you go 5 games by minimizing your ace. If you try to bring back your ace on 3 days rest for a game 5 then you wont see him on regular rest in the ALCS until Game 4. Or he could go short rest again.

Moral of the story is ALDS be efficient.

game 55
cole and the yankee sticks - great combo
higgy is going to make boone face a tough catching call
congrats to adam oh no- 3 up, 3 down - he can protect an eleven run lead

IMO a pretty easy call--Sanchez sits!

Boone said higgy will be catching Cole in the playoffs.

I guess they don't care if they have to go to Minnesota for all 3 games, instead of playing all 3 here.

I ask myself why do I care so much when it seems like they don't. Win or lose they're getting their millions and living large.

Boone always takes foot off the gas. Players used to take pride in playing 162 and you expect these guys to play 60? Just because Yanks always beat Twins doesn't mean that it can't go the other way at any time.

Torre was the same way.

This is a marred team. Team defense is pitiful. Never liked not resigning Didi and moving Torres to 2B. To open a spot for DJLM? What happens when DJLM signs elsewhere? Baserunning is another problem. Too many issues on the bases. Feels to me like there is a lack of fundamentals on this club. After Cole and Tanaka, starting pitching is questionable, and the bullpen has been knocked around this season. The Twins are due to beat the Yankees. I'm predicting 2 games to one.

1. Do you really think DJ will sign elsewhere? Pretty sure he's gonna get a blank check.
2. Right now the White Sox have slipped to 4th. They close with the Cubs as well if Yankees hold serve that series could end up home.
