the yanks win the most important april game in the history of the Bronx.
it keeps their playoff hopes alive.
not much sweeter than seeing judge with a getty goner & chapman throwing 9th inning smoke.
a healthy hicks adds so much to this lineup.
I hope torreyes has earned a permanent spot in the lineup.
 
Red Sox off to a blistering start at 16-2. Tops in pitching and hitting in the AL. Pitching much superior to Yanks. We have the power edge, but they're better all-round hitting. Our defense really sloppy in the early going, with our opponents committing 18 fewer errors. Going to be interesting to see how many injuries will be a factor this season.
 
The manic Yankees are back at 0.500 (9-9) with another forgettable start by Gray. The damn Red Sox off to 17-2 are playing like world beaters.
OKAY, TIME TO WAKE UP.
 
What frustrates me the most about Sonny Gray's performance is that all I've heard from the local talking heads since we got him is how good a pitcher he is. Seems like since he has been a Yankee he has not be even a decent pitcher.

despite being heavy favorites (-240), for the first time this season, I bet the yanks to win.

for awhile I wanted to "trimble" andujar. that is why I am not a gm.
I like hicks in leadoff when gardner not playing.
boston loses 2 in a row. earth welcomes back bosox.

They have. Yanks are 4-0 since, while Boston is 0-3. From 7.5 down to 4.
Starters are giving us innings finally.

Any other season I wouldn't have said anything, but with Boston starting 17-2 putting the yanks 7.5 games back early, yeah, I was getting aggravated, screw the WC. I want 1st.
 
the lineup is clicking. Ballantine blasts are the norm.
didi is on fire. all this with the hot torreyes on the bench.
 
Glad Boone put Didi between the two big boppers.
 
Austin has been a nice surprise at 1B. If they can get Gray & Betances straightened out, they can get on a nice roll.
 
I think Gray will be ok. Betances really worries me. He’s beginning to look like someone who needs a fresh start someplace else, where he will become (once again) a very good reliever.

Austin continues like he has, then Bird will finish the year in AAA. Betances has the yips. Has the stuff, but he is thinking too much.
Loving Torreyes. Little guy can play. Like a Pedroisa lite.
