Starting guards: 7-23 from the field, 1 of 5 for 3. 5 steals, but also 6 turnovers which seemed like more. No need to look at the season stats from 3. It's not a good batting average, even for a 1960's shortstop.
I say again, Coach should bench both to start the next game

One of those wound up being a good miss, since we got the rebound, and put it back.

Even if you put the number at 6, I know that was more than the margin of difference, but it's not like Xavier shot 100%, either. Their misses count, too.
It is not normal at any level of basketball to shoot 100% from the line.

fixating on missed free throws just excuses and shifts the blame from the bad gameplan and bad coaching we saw tonight

Responding more so to Knight not you

Boy this “all access” feed did not do CMA any favors. It basically confirmed what most of us already thought of him as a coach. He is an absolute dunce and it’s starting to feel like we’re in Norm Roberts type purgatory.

I agree to an extent, but I think all things being equal, our facilities, resources, institutional limitations etc make us competing in this era more difficult.
A good coach changes that. When Anderson is let go. Hopefully they find the right guy for the job. Because what we saw tonight for 35 minutes was garbage! And if they are going to play that style and street fight. Then all 40 minutes better look like the last 5 of tonight’s game.

What should have been a strength of ours has become a weakness. Never expected posh to play like this based on his first 2 years for sure and was hoping for freshmen year curbelo.

What did the fanbase ask for
The fanbase chased Lavin out of town. Why? Because they had to have Mullin, and anyone other than him would be completely unacceptable.

The fanbase demanded that we have a roster filled with New York kids. We got Posh, Wusu, Soriano, and Traore. Other than Soriano, the others have been a disappointment thus far this year.

The fanbase was convinced that Madison Square Garden was this great big recruiting tool, and that that would be enough to get out of state players. It isn't.

The fanbase then demanded we hired an experienced coach that had a clean record/background. So we hired Anderson, even though Pitino would have came in a heart beat.

Yes but the Soriano we saw earlier wasn’t the one we’ll see much going forward. I think he’s much improved but against the physical bugs in conference he’s not going to overmatch many.

Throwing shade at Soriano is stupid to me.

Him and Mathis probably the only guys on this team that look like they’ve worked on their game and improved since last season. I appreciate them
You have to admit, there's 2 Sorianos. Poor competition Joel grabs the ball, Big East Joel treats it like a grenade.

Tonight was definitely a bad matchup for us especially the bigs. UConn will be tough as heck as well. Tonight may be worse because Xavier ran great pnr action.

The new transfer rules can kinda help neutralize this I think.

Let’s face it college athletics have become a game of rentals. Kids aren’t committing to schools to play there for 4 years as much anymore.

Even if our facilities aren’t top notch if we have the right coach and staff we should be able to assemble a solid roster and have them coached up into a team that can make the tournament IMO

Like I think Mike A has hit on some solid recruits during his tenure. But the teams have just underperformed and he has to wear that
