@Xavier, Tue., Jan. 7 , 6:30p, FS-1

I’m as optimistic as anyone on this board I think and to me the stretch of Providence Creighton and Xavier on the road here was we needed to win 2/3 to stay above water when it comes to being considered a bubble team without losing other games we are supposed to win.

No it isn’t a must win but it’s a please let’s get this win so we are not further behind the 8 ball and then needing to make up wins against Marquette and UConn by winning twice against one of them. And then doing well in the big east tournament.

Not for me, personally. But I do want this team to go 6-1 in this 7 game stretch before our Marquette/uconn games in early Feb. starting it off with a win here would be huge
Agreed. I said I wanted 6-2 at minimum before those games. We are 1-0 and 6-2 still needs to be the threshold for success in this stretch.

I thought we would win at Creighton. So I am not falling for that again. Until this team proves it, they are the same as last year. A decent team that will be on the wrong side of the bubble come tourney time.

It still boggles the mind that Pitino inserted him for a minute the other night!
You would think that the other coaches would have reminded him he could be lost for the season if he further injured his hand.

Very nice to hear Scott speak on the team and his shooting. Seems confident so I am looking forward to him improving and reverting back to what he has been his career, a reliable mid and long rang shooter. That would do wonders for this team...

(While reading the story, and RP's exhortation to keep shooting, I could not help but have bad memories of Pat Riley allowing John Starks to keep shooting the Knicks out of the championship in 1994, with his Game 7 3-18)

And what about the nights Stark kept shooting and started to hit…We remember the one you mention because it was in play offs. Let’s hope Scott turns it around. His historical % is good.

Good approach. You can really appreciate the wins. And roll with the losses. View every game as an underdog. Works for me.

Here are some bright sports: we are #13 in the country on D. We have 11 ten point runs and have only let up 3. We have a bunch of easily winnable games coming up. Despite the last two games we are still #26 overall and a top 50 offense at EvanMiya.

All five of our best players are in the top 17 players in the BE also.
I have nightmares about easily winnable games.

Please don't mention John Starks, very depressing. Rolando Blackman was on the bench. What was Riley smoking??

very soon and when he does he'll
Scott is going to turn the shooting woes around if not tonight then very soon and when he does he'll go back to being a fan favorite because he does everything else well including hustling like hell.
