Without question. I would like to say we will, but everyone seems to be in a shooting slump. Really thought that first Mullin and now Pitino would have put an end to having no superior 3 point shooters since the rule change. I haven't looked it up, but I suspect that Marcus Earlington may have had one of the highest shooting % from 3 over a season as anyone in the program That's saying something.
The two highest 3 point percentage volume shooters in a season for SJU over the last 15 plus years were: Greg Williams Jr. 44.8% in 2020/2021 and Federico Mussini 42.7% in 2016/2017.

I think need to get Wilcher more looks from three. Despite the recent struggles his shot is sound and someone is going to have to hit a couple.
Smith, Luis and Scott when feet are set and are open eventually by law of averages should be able to hit some. Off dribble threes and any Kadary three have to be eliminated.

I really thought Vince was an unsung big help tonight. He has a very good sense of timing and angles, decent hands and good upper body control for his height. i now look forward to him coming in. 10-15 net asset minutes from him going forward would be wonderful.
This is sarcasm, right? He has the worst timing and uses the worst angles of anyone I have ever seen in a St. John’s uniform. He has no clue who to cover and at one point was double-teaming a corner shooter until his teammate literally threw him back to the paint.

When he’s in the game, everyone who knows basketball holds their breath for Zuby.

I have not been the biggest Kadary fan but he has shown much more as we are in conference play. He can slow the game down when it gets a little out of sorts and reset things.
When things start getting hectic, Kadary pick-n-roll all day, everyday. A Center like Kalk is good enough to impact it, as we saw, with drop coverage and how long and skilled he is defensively. But most others aren't, and at worst you are getting a good look from someone and offensive rebounding opportunity.

Great win.

Xavier is susceptible on the glass, as we exposed, but is a skilled offensive team with multiple players who can hurt you from 3 and off the dribble. The defense was awesome.

And I still think the 3s are going to start to fall for certain kids.

I was so happy with the effort that even the mini-lapses at the end (RJ getting a ball stolen by being too casual, Smith apparently not seeing a wide open Wilcher twice on the break) didn't bother me all that much, because Pitino is ALL OVER these kids even with a huge lead and used those for teaching moments. I even loved the TO he called even though the game was over.

A very important win to say the least and by a larger margin than expected.
Luckily X had a terrible 3 point shooting night in comparison to their season average.
SJ, on the other hand, continue to be the bottom dwellers in 3 point shooting in the Big East. If Pitno had Ju Ju Watkins we would be undefeated!
Hopefully Brady is shooting 500 3 pointers per day because shooting 12% spells a few more losses.

As for the team, KD played his most complete game of the season and was decisive on his drives. RJ was excellent as was Zuby. Scott played excellent defense but continues to suffer the evil eye from the perimeter.
Both Prey and Vince got some important minutes and contributed 5 rebounds. Their development is critical in giving Zuby breaks from his aggressive play.
