@Xavier, Sat., Feb. 4, 5p, FOX

The point of dark matches were to make the fans happy. Often after the last match to be shown on TV. The only happiness we get is at the final buzzer, or when someone hears a rumor that CMA is out.
We'll be the Barry O vs. Johnny Rodz of the college basketball world.
I see us as SD Jones
Was kind of good but mostly lost

Some thoughts on today's game:
First, and foremost, we should extend our sincere condolences to David Jones and his family on the loss of his father. To lose a parent at such a young age is tragic.
Earlier in the season Nyiwe lost his brother.
Tragedies like these put the game of basketball in perspective. I am sure the players are affected by these life changing events.
I am not making excuses for today's drubbing but a loss was expected regardless of the circumstances.

The game itself was a non contest from the tip.
Joel Soriano has no outside game and was easily doubled once he touched the ball. His failure to beat the traps and pass the ball back out led to turnovers and forced shots. He was completely ineffective at both ends of the court against Jack Nunge who outplayed both inside and outside with his ability to shoot the three.
Coach Anderson rightly benched him for most of the second half for his pitiful effort.

Xavier has a great trio of guards in Boum, Kunkel and Colby Jones. Perhaps the best in college basketball this season. Posh, Curbelo and Wusu are not even close in talent. None of the three are capable of running an offense or providing significant scoring. Basically the tale of the tape ends there. The freshmen are coming on quickly but only Storr is a difference maker.
Even without Freemantle Xavier is far superior in talent and that is inexcusable in year four of the Anderson era.

Sadly, at this point in the season both the defense and offense are in complete disarray and that only points to preparation and mental mistakes during games. The team no longer plays hard or smart.

As I stated after the embarrassing loss to Seton Hall, the fat lady has sung on the sinking ship. The only question is who will be the survivors to return next year.

Sometimes overachieve and reach Tony Atlas status.
The only solution is to fire CMA and hire someone who is a proven winner managing talent. If only Freddie Blassie or Captain Lou Albano was still with us. They were makers of champions. Plus, would be great recruiters, as both knew how to cheat when the referee wasn't looking.

Not sure about Pitino's first few years but by his 3rd, when 5 star kids are coming, and they're a top10 program, tickets would be in high demand.
Forget Carnesecca, every game would have to be at MSG, and every game would be a sellout, mostly as a sea of red, like it used to be.
SJU would be the talk of the town, Pitino would be loved in NYC especially by SJU diehards..
He'd be throwing out the first pitch and Yankee stadium and Citi Field.

If you build it, they will come.
If you build excitement around the SJU program that probably hasn't happened since the Louie day, I promise, they will come.
Man I want to visit this fantasy world that you have created. Sounds like a wonderful place but unfortunately will never happen.

LOL. One of my cats is named Captain. I picked him up the day Albano died and talked my kids into the name.

Anderson should try distracting the refs next game

How can some of you sit here and say your glutton for punishment? This is it for me. If anderson is back next year then i am not. I am not watching anymore games b/c i don’t give a shit about beating the bottom teams and we have no chance against top teams.

Maybe tulsa will fire their coach and come knocking.
I’m done now. I’m just here to talk with my friends but it’s the most stress free week ever not caring

Heard Van and Shoes approached CMA about some proposed changes to game planning and were rebuffed. Trouble in river city throughout the program I sense.

CMA relies heavily his nephew’s suggestions.

From a proj mgmt perspective you need to know when to cancel the proj b/c of the long term impact. The mike anderson project is over. If you keep him b/c of his buyout then longterm impact could be more catastrophic than letting him go now.
