It seemed like we had no plan this game. Though the shooting was pretty awful I think the coaching bears some responsibility this game. If we do not turn this around it will be a year of having good players that don't play up to their ability as a team. Need to play tough day. And rebound. Not very insightful, but true.

I dont think thats fair. While he can be a little of a black hole, i've never gotten the feeling that he is only playing for himself and not the team
Often CO also trails the break and one of our Mensa members hits him at top of key. What the hell do they expect to happen? Hate to say this, but this team seldom passes well, makes the right choices or plays smart at critical points in the game.

Couldn't agree more . Lavin can recruit no doubt but his game time coaching is lacking. Gotta light a fire . No sense of urgency. Calls timeout to correct a wrong and come out do same thing again. Team has low bball IQ, no chemistry. Defiantly a game we should of won.

One thing the team tends to do that really bothers me is when they make a great play to grab a rebound then don't look to see where the open man is and just chuck up a wild hook shot. Grabbing the board is useless if you do that. After an offensive rebound is when the defense is vulnerable, yet I see Jakarr and Gift taking blind spinaround lefthanded hook shots with two guys in their jockstrap with 34 seconds on the shot clock while D'angelo's wide open on the perimeter.
Is there any difference between Lavin and Roberts?
Yeah I get it, Lavin is a great recruiter, but with all his great recruiting ht season was with Norms kids. Ok, those Roberts recruits were all seniors but I don`t see these kids as seniors next year doing what norms seniors did.
So lets go to 2015 and with no one so far for 2014:
Seniors if no one leaves early, Draft/Transfer: Sampson, Obekpa, Jones, Hooper, and Balamou.
Junior: Jordan
No Sophmores
That leaves us 6 players on scholarships, so I guess we better get atleast 4 freshmen (Lavin better get 2 freaking shooters), and there`ll be the the "oh we`re young again" bs excuse. Guess we`d have to wait until 2017 to be good right?
See that`s what it is with people on this board. Oh give Lavin time, time, time. It`s the same bs every year.
Can`t give the oh they`re young and have no depth this year. That`s why i was mellow the last two years. Can`t use that excuse this year though.

Please help me understand. .. we lost a game that we were supposed to lose (5 point dogs) and we are 9-4 with about 20 games to go. You're making it seem like the season ended today. At the end of the year we best see results but why bitch about things that haven't happened yet? Smh
We gave up 60 points in 30 minutes today but the players we put on the court are a defensive juggernaut. No surprise that the two worst looking teams today were SJU and Marquette, two "athletic" teams that can't shoot a lick. You and everyone else have no idea if Hooper can play D, he never plays. And I know he can't create his own shot but neither can Cooney at the Cuse and how is that working out? I have no idea if he can play and neither does anyone else if they have a modicum of objectivity but I do know used correctly he can spread out defenses to open up driving lanes. Obviously other teams know he can shoot because they jump on him as soon as he comes in the game. One thing I do know do is you can't play at this level with no shooters on the court and playing in crunch time (and most of the game) with guys putting their heads down looking for their own. Lavin wants to play 10 "athletes" but won't force tempo. This is broke and IMO, give Jordan the ball, settle on 7-8 man rotation and see what happens. Greene and Harrison have been playing together for 3 years and their chemistry is non-existant, it is way past time for some real coaching.
