Xavier - 2nd Game

Let's hope he's right:

Xavier at St. John’s, Monday, 8 p.m., Fox Sports 1

Xavier had a really good week last week with wins over Cincinnati and Butler. St. John’s has strengthened its tourney standing by winning four times in its last five games, but the Johnnies cannot afford to backtrack. They’re a desperate hometeam, and it’s almost March.

St. John’s 71, Xavier 67

Watched their win over Cinci, helped by the ceiling high three pointers by Dee Davis. Blueitt was terrible that game. Farr
and Myles Davis also chipped in. Cincinnati was big and long. They have to be feeling good about themselves after these two wins. Of course the Butler victory was without Chrabasz on the court. We need tonight and we will win tonight.

Any chance they call this "senior night" and start Khadim Ndiaye?

Senior "night" was Saturday at CA where they always have it. If they were going to do it at MSG, it would be on the 28th, not tonight.

Didn't realize it was Saturday. Thanks for the info, and was hoping and praying they would not do it against G-town

I won't disparage anyone who is looking ahead and saying "if we win x and y, then we'll be dancing, or if we win x,y, and z, we'll be a 7 seed ..." etc.

But for my own mental health and well-being I've stopped looking ahead. This team makes it impossible to take anything for granted lol
I think that's a blessing and a curse. It makes the wins more special, but certainly causes many of us indigestion.

Honestly though, I don't know how anyone can say any game is close to a guarantee. Even the marquette game. Who the hell knows.

I was fired up as all hell coming off the Xavier win, and we laid an absolute egg in D.C.
So as much as I'd love to say I see this team going 3-1 or whatever, I can't.
I don't even want to think about anything beyond Xavier tomorrow, because getting your hopes up with this team is a recipe for disappointment.
So I'll stick with what I said weeks ago: we're too inconsistent and too short on the bench to make the tournament. But I'd love for this team to surprise me and prove me wrong.

BTW, the Marquette game would be a lot easier if Carlino continues to be out. They miss his scoring for sure.

Any body have a ticket you'd like to sell? I could meet you at or near the garden. PM me if you do.

It was not last Saturday, that is incorrect info. "Senior Night" is going to be against Georgetown on Saturday at noon.

I think Carlino is done for the year but they seem to be playing better without him and on their court that game is no gimme

I assume the board will be quiet during the game with many of our die hards at the garden making noise... But for those away from a tv I will provide regular updates for the game tonight

If you order via redstormsports or ticketmaster code WFAN gets you 10 bucks off.

Alright, I am here in my seat. Good feeling......just saying.

Last time you said you had a good feeling we beat Minnesota. Don't know how I remember that but I do! :woohoo:

Another great feature on Felipe Lopez. I don't remember who did the first one earlier this season, but the one done by FS1 was great to watch. Good to see him giving back and enjoying it.

Run run and more run. Take Stain out of the game that way and then run some more. Last time we played them Lavin made them try to adjust to us. Stain is going to get his anyway so limit the damage by putting his ass on the bench with oxygen

I think Stainbrook was fools gold last game. I think they tried to get him the ball because of the mismatch that it took Xavier out of their half court game. Let Stain go 7-9 again and keep the rest of the team to 36% and we'll be fine.
