Xavier - 2nd Game

Head to head right now Xavier gets in over us. I think this win is more important to us because if we beat Xavier and lets say Marquette and lose to GTown and Nova we end up .500 in conference and 20 wins. Ive been saying it for weeks, 21 wins gives us a LOCK! 20 wins and we are on the fence and in need of a BE tourney win.

8pm start. Hope we still get a good crowd

I'm going

If you live in the 5 boroughs, then get your ass to the game FFS.
Give the seniors in their last days here huge support. Let them know how much you appreciated them.

GO REDMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am there......representing Jersey. It's just a short train ride through the tunnel.

Exactly my point, if you're in the 5 boroughs, then take the subway. Game will be over 10 - 10:15, take me about 40minutes to get home depending on the wait. That get me home around 11pm.

If you're upstate or the east end of l.i. now that's a different story

I'm coming down from CT. Will be there with my son. Probably catch the 11:28 train that will get me home a little after 1:00 AM. A win would make the long day all the more enjoyable!

I have to work til 7:30 on the Upper East Side and live 60 miles north of the city, but I'll still be there like always for reasons that simply can't be explained.

As we used to say when we stayed out all night, "Sleep is for the weak". I'll be there, and when we win, I'll sleep much better than if I stayed home, got to bed earlier but we lost.

I'll be at both games this week. Really looking forward to both. We played these two teams at home late last year and only got one of them. Time to get the requisite wins and push this team over the top. They belong there and need to finally earn it. I fully believe they'll get it done this week. Love this team.

I'll be at both. We may make the tournament, we may not. But either way we likely won't be in this position for at least a few years. I want to see these seniors go to the tournament more than anything and I believe they will do it. Just enjoy the ride, be happy we're in it until the very end, and hope for the best.

Also, we're in a much better position this year than this time last year.

This year we're in the low 40's RPI with 4 games to play. Last year with 4 games to play I believe we were still in the 50's.

Our schedule last year:
@ Nova (this loss killed our momentum)
Vs. Xavier (tough game which was basically a must win)
Vs. DePaul (pulled it out)
@ Marquette (pulled it out in double OT)

We went 2-2 and then lost to Providence opening round. We really needed to go 3-1 and win a game or two in the BET to have a chance. This year we already have more top 50 wins, a better RPI, and a tougher upcoming schedule. We also have a legit chance at going 2-2 and losing in the first round and still making it.

Storm only 2 pt. choice when home court means so much. Fear of to much X money on the way? We be home dog vs. G.town. I thought the way guys finished up vs. the Hall good sign.

Now I will definitely hammer Xavier

The key to the game, as someone else mentioned, is the pace or tempo.

Mack stressed pregame to his team that the game needed to stay a halfcourt game. His team failed in that aspect and they lost the game.

Georgetown succeeded in that aspect, and we all know the outcome.

So the pace will very much determine what kind of game this is. Go SJU

I hate to make such a definitive statement about a game in February but we have to play like our season depends on winning tonight. Sweeping Xavier would be a big statement to the NCAA.

Let's do this, gentlemen.

Sweeping two top 25 RPI teams (Providence/Xavier) would look phenomenal on our resume. Let's do it !!!

Amen to both your statements!

Two things. I didn't think Xavier was top 25 RPI, and if they lose this game, they may not be anymore.
