9 1/2 point swing from spread in first game, X would be very slight favorite on neutral court. Won't be underdog to Hoyas if we beat X.

Xavier had a really good week last week with wins over Cincinnati and Butler. St. John’s has strengthened its tourney standing by winning four times in its last five games, but the Johnnies cannot afford to backtrack. They’re a desperate hometeam, and it’s almost March.

To avoid getting off to a bad start I hope he starts Obekpa. I am sure it will be one of the starters of the month club again though. De Larosa maybe?

I don't think so; Lavin HAS done a good job spotting minutes the last 5 games or so and I think he continues that with AA starting tonight. But who knows..............

Starting might depend on his ankle. If his ankle is still sore and Lavin has to minimize his PT , Im ok w not staring him. Also helps keep him out of foul trouble. I wouldn't however, start Balamou in his place.
 
This is one of those games that around 5-6 p.m. towards the end of the workday my stomach gets squeamish and I start going to the bathroom a bunch of times till tip-off. I'd be puking before games if I was a professional/ collegiate athlete, good thing that's not the case

I hope he starts Amar again, Lavin is superstitious so maybe he sticks with it. This game really scares me. X wants revenge. SJU is coming off the high of last home game for seniors at Carnesecca. X is a very well coached team that will give us all we can handle tonight. I would love an easy win to set up the knock down drag out war with the Hoyas but I just don't see it.
 
I don't mind AA starting either, as long as it's not Felix. CO then can stay out of early fould trouble and be available for the last 8 mins when we need himthe most.
 
The thing I don't want is to cover Stainbrook with a small guy and then help, leaving the three point line open. Again I would rather just play our normal lineup from the jump
 
I dunno, Stainbrook's the kind of player that can get CO in foul trouble real fast. Let's run him up and down the court a dozen times or so and then bring CO in.
 
Run run and more run. Take Stain out of the game that way and then run some more. Last time we played them Lavin made them try to adjust to us. Stain is going to get his anyway so limit the damage by putting his ass on the bench with oxygen

If I was playing, I'd be playing every game like my life is on the line. I'd be playing like a man possessed. My dream would be to play in the ncaa (like their dream is.), can't have X and G-Town deny you of your dream.

I agree. Run it, push it. Keep the pace high. Stainbrook's cardio is not as good as ours. Now that being said, gotta contain Jalen Reynolds and Myles Davis
 
Right off the bat play into the lane, inside out. Make sure refs make the home calls we supposed to get. We don't want Phil and Jordan feeling they got to hit from outside for us to score. No droughts. If Dlo can get into the lane last 3 minutes, got to go all game.
