Harrison has exceptional communication skills and thinks on his feet. Whenever I read his quotes, I learn something. Most kids spew the same canned responses you hear for year from different guys.
Key quotes:
“You have to pick and choose when you get fouls,” he said. “I had four with like 10 minutes left, so I was like, ‘Coach, keep me in the game.’ He left me in here. He trusts me because I’ve been here four years. We grinded it out and got a W. Big win for us.”
Significant to hear that Harrison was able to convince Lavin to keep him in with 4 fouls. I expected him to get yanked for 3-4 minutes at least when he picked up #4. It was a great call because we were sputtering on offense without Harrison in there.
“That was part of me coming here,” Harrison said of playing in MSG. “It’s amazing to play here (and) call it the home court. Hopefully after I graduate from here, I continue to play here on a different team.”
Nice to here that Harrison has NBA aspirations. He just might have an NBA future, but after hearing CJ Nitkowski speak at his HOF induction, I think Harrison just might have a career in the booth after he stops playing at wherever level he attains.
Amazing to say I'm going to miss this kid's off the court quotes as much as his contributions on the court.
Agree Beast. I've watched every episode of Red Storm Report and his insights and comments on the show speak volumes about his intelligence and excellent communication skills. I believe we will definitely see him again in some capacity with either the NBA or a major sports network.
