Worst losses ever

Hiring Norm. The program has never recovered.
During Norm's tenure here, Baylor had one of the worst scandals in the history of sports, anywhere and at any time. This included a bb player murdering his teammate and the program being given the "death sentence". Yet, somehow, the bb program was not only resurrected, but they won a national championship last year. If Baylor can come back from that scandal , we should certainly be able to come back or our scandal,  and the resulting hiring of Norm, by now. No more excuses.
Not only did one teammate murder another but head coach Dave Bliss told players to lie during the investigation which turned up numerous other transgressions.

My disappointment is rooted in the fact we have two All BE players and my naive assumption that the transfers were of more impact than what we have seen. Unlike North, Monte and others, I minimized the loss of some kids who transferred while assuming the new guys were upgrades. Shame on me so far. Continuity to degree possible in this transfer mania era is still a valuable commodity.
If we had been able to retain Dunn, Moore, GWill and Earl, or at least 3 of those 4, and back filled with frosh and transfers, IMO we would be a top 25ish team this season. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be.

I was shocked at how bad SJU looked today but that was surpassed when I read Monte’s post about Raasheem Dunn. Dunn’s outside shooting seemed to constantly deteriorate during his time at SJU and I believe during the latter part of last year he had almost completely stopped shooting threes because he was shooting about ten per cent .
If he is near fifty per cent at Robert Morris SJU should measure  the rims at CA , something is not right

Monte, serious question as I know you were Dunn's biggest fan. Any idea why he decided to leave and go to Robert Morris of all places? They are 1-8 with their only win coming against a bible school. Was it simply a case of wanting to play the point full time or was he pushed?

I think it was DLos jr year we were a 1 seed and got killed the first round of the NIT.. Not the worse loss but pretty bad.
Robert Morris I believe. Where my main man Rasheem Dunn, who got way to much hate on this board, is averaging almost 13PPG while shooting nearly 50% from 3. Great young man and solid ballplayer. Sure wish we still had him.

You mean the NIT game vs Robert Morris where R Jordan refused to suit up and play ?

Heaven forbid he was pushed , I don’t even want to consider that possibility. If he wanted to leave that is where coach had to sit him down and say you have been playing 25 minutes a game for 2 years here and both yourself and the team have exceeded expectations each year. You are a very good student studying accounting with a high GPA and NYC and Wall Street have tremendous opportunities for you for the next 40 plus years. Let’s get you a great summer internship at a top level accounting firm and come back for your sixth year of college at SJU where you will again play a key role, get a masters in accounting, line up an excellent position following graduation and hopefully the team can dance.
clearly a no brainer over transferring to Robert Morris. For those who don’t know Dunns mom is a cop and her only child’s education is very important to her. Zero reason to have let Dunn go.

I was as shocked as anyone when I saw that he's shooting 47%+ from 3.

No clue NC why he wanted to transfer, and why he would choose RM. Thought he came back home to finish his college career here. Clearly he wasn't happy here for whatever reason, just can't understand him going to RM unless maybe he has a relationship with a coach there.

As bad as Pitt is, they still play in the ACC.  That automatically means this can't be the worst loss ever.  Plenty of losses to bad low and mid major teams to go around for that title.
You gotta name yours then because this was f'ing horrible

The irony of a guy named "Bliss" running the program, should not be overlooked

Rasheem Dunn was .255 at St. Francis.

But you are right about the rims because Stef Smith is 11-37 (.297). Only Alexander and Wheeler have worst percentages.

the PITTiful loss reminded me of a loss i witnessed in person at rose hill. the ram drove the length of the court against sju and scored uncontested at the buzzer for a buzzer beating loss.
