My frat brother that still works at SJU said he saw ADLR on the taco bell line in marillac just yesterday. SMH
That's the training staff's meal plan for him. As for the physical part of his training regiment he must do 2 minutes of yoga 3 times a week.

I doubt that since there is no longer a Taco Bell in Marilac. It moved out two years ago!

There was Taco Bell in Marillac tonight...love me some Chalupas.

How much weight can you actually gain from taco bell when it comes out the other end so quickly although like Marillac I do like my chalupas

Looks like CO and the team has known for a few days now, as this was posted on Monday.

What does the tweet say? Twitter is blocked at my school

Where do you go to school? China?

Social media is blocked at pretty much all high schools nowadays if your using their wifi.

That's pretty ridiculous.

Yea, Moose, it's ridiculous that high schools to try to limit internet pursuits to actual academic pursuits. First it's social media, and the next thing you know they will be blocking pornography in high schools

Although I highly doubt that St. Johns and Lavin would have cut bait so quickly, and without putting up a fight, if there was nothing of significance known to them.

I think it's a simple answer: I actually think they asked him directly about the situation -- something they had no reason to do back in the spring -- and he told them the truth. And now he's gone because of the answer he gave.

I had high hopes for him -- I really was expecting 9 rpg, so bummed he's gone. But I wish him well. In all honesty, I actually think I am just as pissed at ADLR for not taking his fitness more seriously as I am at the KT situation. We need the big guy more than ever now, and he seemingly didn't eat anything that wasn't deep fried and basted with chocolate the entire offseason

Speaking of ADR and fitness, was just having a conversation about that with a buddy this morning. IMO, he should forget the whole trimming down idea and just hit the weight room real hard. I don't care how much he ever trims down, he's always going to be slow as molasses. With his shear girth and decent skill sets, IMO if he's built like a brick house he can dominate down low on both ends. Plus firming up has got to be a whole lot easier for him then trimming down.

Adonis' weight has defiantly fluctuated through out high school, and I'm not necessarily sure his 322 lb frame is a direct result of unhealthy habits. Being in a Division 1 program, Delarosa has got to be working with the best trainers he's ever worked with, and I'm sure they know what they're doing. He's still lighter than UCLA's/Georgetown's Joshua Smith was at one point (who weight 350 at one point I believe), and that kid could really lock down in the paint. Granted I know Smith was the #2 center of his class and Adonis was #50, but as long has Adonis can act like a defensive brick and get rebounds, he might surprise people despite his conditioning. He's supposed to be pretty good passing out of double teams, and he could kick the ball out to a guard if he has to. My worry isn't Delarosa's weight, its whether or not he can be a defensive anchor without getting fouls.

Well my worry is the fact that we need him to rebound, and I'm afraid after 2 minutes in the game, the opposing team will be 20 seconds into their offensive possession, and ADR will still be making his way down the court. Call it weight issues or stamina issues, whatever, we need rebounding and I don't think he can give it to us with where his conditioning seems to be

Agree its not the weight per se, although it doesn't help, but having watched him in High School he is soft. Yes he was very good at rebounding and kicking out in high school, but then I don't think he ever went against a kid taller than 6'5". Big difference from CHSAA to Big East. From those that have seen him since the start of school, he doesn't seem to have added any muscle. And IMO that's what he's going to need if he's going to be successful in the paint at this level.

Lew Alcindor used to be the last player up the court at UCLA as was Bob Lanier. If he gets into shape by January he could contribute up to 5 minutes a half. That would be a huge accomplishment for him. A look at the bright side is we have 15 fouls at the 5 position.

Fair point. Garnering some optimism, I guess ADR can get down the court in slightly less time than Curtis Johnson. :) He does have skills, however. In time, if he pays the price, he can be a functional player.

Maybe he can just avoid running to the other end on offense. He's probably less useful there.

Ironically all the times I have seen him I have been most impressed by his passing.

Very true. He might be useful for short periods of time. Besides it's been a while since we've had a guy his size on the court. Maybe he'll impress people, maybe he won't. Regardless he's got potential to get better.

Just a question to those excoriating Lavin now: If we didn't offer Thomas a scholarship, what monster talent was next on our list who we let go by? Until Lavin's cupboard is stocked with Grade A recruits that he has his pick of, there will be more questionable recruits. The question should not be why he brought Thomas in, but about the lack of success in this class recruiting high level talent.

Speaking of who was next on our list...Marlon Jones, who we were recruiting around the same time as Thomas, but lost out to Loyola, has failed to qualify academically and will be going JUCO. On the bright side, at least there wasn't fraud involved.
